It's absolutely disgusting how weak UNC's side of the ACC is in football. Thank god they're on probation this year.

This is the worst team VT and UVA have fielded in my lifetime (not sure how they rate historically). VT has always been at least a top 25 program and for the most part top 10-15. They may not be a top 50 team this year. Virginia is total garbage and might not even win an ACC game this season.

Georgia Tech is a way down and probably a non top 50 team. Miami is borderline top 50 with that atrocious defense. Duke is slightly better than normal but still ~top 75.

UNC is not top 25 I don't think but they're the only half decent team in that division. They may win out their schedule is so freaking weak (no clemson or fsu).



On the other side we've got a great team FSU, a good clemson team, a decent Maryland team, a blah state team, a bad BC team, and a terrible wake forest team. How is this fair? We need realignment. VT and Miami have fallen off too badly and FSU/Clemson recovered too well for these divisions to be fair anymore going forward.

come on, now.. decent? You did see their score vs. William & Mary, right? So Maryland, whose wins have come against W&M and Temple, is "decent", but Wake Forest, who beat UNC (who "might win their division"), is terrible.

By the way, two years ago VT lost their first two games to Boise State and James Madison, then went on to promptly win 10 straight games, going undefeated in conference play, and then win the ACC Championship. Come on face, I normally try to defend you, but this is poor.

its better to have the two good teams in the same division that way clemson can recover and make the bcs and the conference doesn't have to worry about having a team fall out of the bcs because they lost the conference championship game.

People are forgetting that before Beamer got there, VT was pretty much nothing. They've been to BCS Bowls several times in recent years and have done pretty well for an engineering school in Blacksburg, VA. But really, they are the Reno of college football, the biggest little program.

FSU and Miami's suckage have been most damaging to the league. I'm guessing part of the reason the championship game was in Jacksonville the first few years was because one of the Florida teams was presumed to make it most seasons.
