Not many good ones in the cinema lately. Waiting for Avatar 3 coming in Christmas.

I feel like Honey Don't had potential to be really good, but its missing something]
9/18/2025 12:10:30 AM
One Battle After Another is sounding fantastic.
9/18/2025 9:00:18 AM
It’s being hyped up quite a bit and getting really good reviews, but the trailers do almost nothing for me, I’m just not that interested
9/18/2025 9:16:03 AM
So agree. I bought my ticket yesterday, but i'm only going due to the hype
9/18/2025 9:17:42 AM
98% on Rotten Tomatoes with 87 reviews in]

Just watched Oppenheimer on youtube recently. Pretty boring. Dunno why it's the best movie of 2023.
9/19/2025 4:42:15 PM
But he bombed the Japanese -- subjugators, occupiers, and sworn enemies of the Chinese.
9/19/2025 7:50:26 PM
I watched Drop. It's nothing special but it was ok.]
9/22/2025 10:03:06 AM
Gonna watch Superman sometime. Heard it was really good. Haven't found a time yet.
9/22/2025 11:33:24 AM
It seems like all PTA movies get a lot of hype. TGL’s gonna watch it three times at least.

Didn't really care for the Long Walk. I didn't think it was terrible, but I was glad when it was over
9/23/2025 3:10:04 PM
Finally watched Superman on YouTube. Maybe because haven’t watched the similar movies for a long time, thought it was decent and refreshing. Especially the main theme music is very touching.
9/28/2025 11:11:51 AM
One Battle After Another. Worth a watch, but definitely overrated. Can't see Sean Penn getting an oscar for this.
9/30/2025 4:02:11 PM
^Worth almost three hours?
10/1/2025 8:22:01 PM
Its closer to 2.5. I guess 3 with like trailers and all that bs. But I think so. I've been chatting with my neighbor phill about it, discussing various things from the movie. Need to see it a second time to pick up on a few things, get clarification etc
10/1/2025 11:22:34 PM
I watched Honey Don’t last night finally. I don’t know how I feel about it. StTexan said it right - there was a lot of potential in there, and I enjoyed it, but I felt really let down when it ended.Qualley is going to have a great career in Hollywood though.
10/6/2025 9:43:25 AM
I disliked Drive-Away Dolls so much that I have zero interest in another Coen-Qualley collab
10/6/2025 2:34:03 PM
There's no continuity between the two is there?I was thinking about watching Drive Away Dolls, but maybe I shouldn't waste my time.
10/7/2025 9:12:56 AM
they aren’t related to each other, no, but I’ve read that they have the same beats
10/7/2025 10:30:07 AM
One Battle After Another lived up to the hypecan’t wait to watch it again
10/8/2025 12:37:25 AM
Anemone...another one that had potential. As the first hour went on, intrigue was building. 2nd half... relatively flat. No real payoff. DDL was pretty good of course. I can see his son making some better films in the future for sure, the talent is definitely there. Story just needed work
10/9/2025 1:20:19 AM
I will say this though - I really really appreciate these movies that are hitting the theaters lately such as One Battle After Another, Anemone, Honey Don’t. They aren’t these huge 350 billion dollar spectacles. Movies for people who actually like movies. I hope this is a trend that continues.I’m kinda done with the superhero era. I really enjoyed Thunderbolts but man, everything else that has been released lately has been a letdown. Disclaimer though - I haven’t seen the latest Superman yet.
10/9/2025 3:11:01 PM
^ so agreeRoofman was ok. Him i thought was terrible
10/10/2025 3:10:42 AM
Only seen the first 2 tron movies once so not up on all the lore...tron: ares is barely ok. Another "had potential" type film. No real suspense, action pretty weak, didn't really care about the characters. Soundtrack probably pretty good though. And red...a whole lot of red. Can't decide which movie I like more, Roofman or Tron: Ares. I guess RoofmanProbably will finish caught stealing tonight]
10/10/2025 8:17:09 PM
I Like Me is very good
10/11/2025 11:40:45 AM
^Just finished it myself. Loved it
10/11/2025 9:07:15 PM
^how many dang movies have you watched in the last week
10/12/2025 12:35:55 AM
I thought Good Boy was fantastic. The feeling of dread really kicks in towards the beginning and doesn’t let up.
10/13/2025 8:37:33 AM
^sounds interesting. Run time leaves a lot to be desired though^^just 5. Kinda caught up now]
10/13/2025 10:22:06 AM
The runtime fits with the movie though. There’s only so much they could do with the premise, but they do it well, within that timeframe.
10/13/2025 10:25:45 AM
Tron Ares was visually appealing but the logistics behind the conflict and its implications just didn't seem to work out. Spoilers below:So Athena was following her directive to the full extent of her guidance. She is still entirely reliant on the laser set up at Dillinger to respawn after 29 mins/being derezzed. After she killed Gillian Anderson and Evan Peters realized she was going insane --- why wouldn't he just shut the power off on the lasers? Or ... just power down the internal Grid until he could figure out how to contain her? Or just call in some security guards with guns to shoot her as soon as she respawns? The main conflict behind the programs escaping into the real world is bottlenecked through that one singular respawn point (this was the same situation in Tron Legacy, had Clu made it out).
10/13/2025 2:50:10 PM
^Stuff like that kinda irked me. Just seemed like weird ass plot holes all through out. I feel like the tone deaf people that approved this movie were like "AI is huge right now, lets try to cash in on it through some kinda dystopian fears" etc. SpoilersI still don't get how Leto all the sudden just like started disobeying orders and shit. He saw some rain and a lightning bug and all the sudden its like "lets save eve, AI is bad"? Never got why he all the sudden grew a conscience. Also the movie looked good other than too much red...but the acting/story felt low rent as fuck to me, like made for tv-ish
10/13/2025 3:48:08 PM
10/15/2025 2:54:01 AM
Play Dirty was fun
10/17/2025 2:10:31 AM
It was difficult not to stop and just look up spoilers, but I finished Highest 2 Lowest with several 10 second or few minute skips
10/18/2025 6:42:31 PM
Code 3 was good
10/20/2025 1:41:38 AM
I never cared for the original running man, few years before my time, perhaps I should give it a rewatch...I think the remake is going to flop so hard
10/26/2025 2:19:17 PM
Arnold's dialogue alone makes it worth watching
10/27/2025 2:48:10 PM
First time watched The Martian for free on Youtube. Can't believe it has been a decade since it was released. But still very impressive even by today's standard.
10/29/2025 10:15:04 AM
AI could do better.
10/29/2025 4:47:06 PM
So I watched A House Full of Dynamite last night on Netflix.Holy shit. I highly recommend you guys watch. It’s scarier than any horror movie I’ve ever seen, knowing the current players that would be involved.
