Yeah for the most part Joann's fabric selection kind of sucks. I think for the next project I'll just order some fabric online. Anyone have recommendations for online fabric shops with cute fabrics? 1/26/2011 1:07:03 PM |

I didn't realize how spoiled I was with fabric shops in Japan. They always had the coolest prints. Too bad shipping costs from Japan suck.
^^ Oooh I like their stuff!

I'm getting a 50% off bath and body work from groupon. They're also having a buy 3 get 2 free sale, I know I really like Moonlight Path and Japanese Cherry Blossom, but I'd like another one besides just these two. Any recommendations? 1/27/2011 8:46:06 AM |

Groupon doing it right lately
OH they have a new line of smells for summer or whatever. The Fiji Passionfruit is great if you like fruity scents

When I was getting my sister-in-law's Christmas present and things were buy 3, get 3 free I discovered the "Signature Vanillas" line. I got the berry triple moisture body cream. I LOVE this stuff. Smells so good and leaves my skin really soft. 1/27/2011 9:15:11 AM |

If you like Jap. Cherry blossom and Moonlit path, you'd probably like Dark Kiss, secret wonderland, or Twilight woods. All are softer and more floral rather than fruity.

The only problem with Etsy is most of the people on their jack up the price and don't sell by the yard from what I've seen. I've seen fabrics that I've bought for like $1/yard in Kyoto on Etsy for over $10 for about a yard of cloth I should just bribe my friends back there to send me packages of cloth 1/27/2011 9:30:12 AM |

So, inspired by wolfpackgrr, I went out to my local Jo-ann's (Durham, 15-501) and I had a little less issue with the fabric choices. I actually was only going for thread, but McCall and Vogue patterns are really discounted today (1.99 and 3.99 respectively I think), sooo.
Here are my fabric spoils. I found that poppy print - but it's more red (which is fine by me!)
I love asian inspired stuff - and I tried to show off as much as that one print as possible, but there's still a dragon hiding underneath the black and white print 1/27/2011 4:42:29 PM |

^ Go get it! I can't remember the specific price - I think $5-7/yd. And there was plenty left in the Durham store. This is the one right off 15-501, near a TJMaxx, and a Hibachi Grill Buffet. It's in the "premium quilting" section. 1/28/2011 10:02:12 AM |

^^^ ... where's the embarassed smiley? My bad.
I haven't decided what to make with it yet... seeing as it's such a big print, I was thinking a big tote style type bag, but I don't think it's got enough strength for that. Mmm... I would love to make a pillow, but, I don't think it will go well. 1/28/2011 6:20:30 PM |

So recently I switched deodorants to secret's truth or pear
and I LOVE it. Idk it just smells super super good and it had me wondering about switching to a pear scented perfume
I know it's probably a long shot, but does anyone know of a pear perfume? I don't think I've ever come across one in the many times I've gone perfume shopping and I dont' really want to just google it and take my chances on buying something I haven't actually smelled yet. I'm weird about perfumes (read as very picky)
I tend to like sweet scents. Currently I use the vanilla sugar spray from B&BW but I'm getting bored with it

LOVING these vintage glasses! I don't have a prescription ... is it possible to change the lenses to sunglasses, and how much might that cost?? it would have to be custom lenses so I'm thinking $Texas.

might be 2-300 if you get all the bells and whistles or need some vision correction
and actually, all glasses lenses are cut custom

you know what i LOVE but would never have an occasion to wear (except i'd totally put them under my wedding dress if i were getting married)....GLITTER PUMPS
i love them. esp the christian louboutin ones ($$$$$). i love love love them. what do you wear them with in real life though? i feel like you have to be a super fashionista (in like NY or LA) or a celeb to wear them because they seem too funky for going out in raleigh. i guess they'd be good for NYE or some other cocktail party. but i don't go to cocktail parties soooo, yea. no glitter shoes for me. i <3 them though. GLITTTTERRRRRRR.
and miu miu.
anyways. totally random post but sometimes i dream about owning a $1000 pair of glitter shoes.

I LOVE those glitter shoes!!! I think you should buy a pair once they trickle down to department stores. You could totally pull them off if you kept the rest of your outfit simple ... they'd look awesome with an LBD!! 2/2/2011 3:45:23 PM |
