Yeah, same. I could see maybe like $200 for a dress watch that is just a watch. When you throw the GPS in there it isn't just a watch anymore I guess and I would pay more for that. But like the $10K kind of watch-only-watches? Fuck that.

meh...don't care that much about a watch. Think the one I have now is a $20 walmart special that I've had forever. I will, however, drop a couple hundred dollar bucks on a new phone every year.

i don't know if i want an engagement ring. and if i do it will likely be created from a piece of jewelry i already have. worthless in the fact that it does not tell time, but not worthless in sentimental value i guess (making it from something i already have, i mean, adds sentimental value, a zales ring would not have that value).

anyway, watches are not worthless. they tell time. that wasn't what i was saying. i have like 5 watches. yay watches! but if i had an extra 10K sitting around it wouldn't go toward a watch. OR any other jewelry for that matter! i'd probably disappear for awhile.

i probably wouldn't even spend $100 on a watch. but that is just me. unless, like i said, i had some extreme hobby like scuba diving or hardcore hiking/running and needed some fancy gadget watch so i didn't die/get lost.

Watches are becoming more and more irrelevant every year. By 2020, they'll just be fancy bracelets. My watch hasn't worked for months, but I still wear it because I like the way it looks. I've never once used it to tell time.
