Today I went to Sears to spend down a gift card that had been given to me on Christmas; I already had the bright idea to get a new router online with enough internal Flash memory to handle an IPv6-capable build of DD-WRT, but I still had some money left on it, and my wallet was in terrible condition after more than 10 years of abuse (the credit-card flap had long since become unattached).

Then I found this curious thing in a discount bin in the women's section:

This Rolf's Savvy Clutch Aussie looked like a good deal at what I thought was half off the original $28; it was less than all but one of the wallets I would later see in men's (that one was also heavily discounted but had an odd separate money clip), and it was long enough to hold my checkbook, for those rare occasions in which I actually use that rather than my debit card.

When I went to purchase it and a couple other things, I saw that it was actually half off the marked price, OMG

lewisje: that bag doesn't look very well made in the picture, hope it's better IRL.

khcadwal: how were you going to wear that piece? I got a black sequin dress before christmas and I never wore it during the holidays. Its got very small sequins and it's not terribly shiny, but I need inspiration on how to tone it down a little.

i know, sequins are so difficult

i think i'd wear it with leggings to tone it down. leggings and boots (or flats). and probably limit jewelery. or wear like a casual watch or something.

i was talking about the post itself, nothing to do with his gender.

but i realize i read it wrong....i was thinking in my head "ok, so it was marked at 1/2 off and you got it half off, and?..."

but now i realize he meant the marked price.

i fail at reading comprehension

i was confused on all possible levels, including what joie was confused by

i also got distracted by the first portion of the post (the router discussion)

then confused again by the checkbook discussion. i wonder if my checkbook fits in my clutch wallet? i'm assuming no because then it wouldn't snap shut. i NEVER use my checkbook but then an instance will occur where i need it (like i owed eric $ and was just gonna give him a check) and i never have it with me...checks are an inconvenient truth.

ANYWAY what i really am asking here, is was the wallet $7? if so, YAY! that is even cheaper than target. mine from there was like $10 or something. but i did get a purse on clearance once for $3.

ugh! so for valentines day my bf asked me what i wanted. i told him i wanted a pair of really cute & really girly heels.

so we went shopping to pick some out and we found these and decided they were the ones

turns out they didn't have my size. no big deal we'll find them online. except not. these shoes are apparently classified as bridal shoes (lol wtf and oops) and they are from like 2009

i also tried these on

but once i saw the purple ones i wasn't interested in the red ones anymore

so now i'm on the hunt for something sparkly/sequiny & peep toe, also must be a pump

my budget is $100-- any ideas??? i can't find anything i like. i'm a size 7 (and the ones we found at dillards were 7.5 which i normally am but they ran big and i needed a 7, especially in peep toes)

^ Those shoes are so cute! I wish I could wear heels like that without being in a ridiculous amount of pain within the first 5 minutes of putting them on.

Ladies, I want to get a relatively inexpensive but good eyebrow wax. Are there any places you recommend for a good eyebrow wax?

^^ that is sooo hard. i have like 0 ideas. i checked nordstrom and a few other online places i could think of and the only sparkle shoes are usually designer and $$$$$$ (like christian louboutin). i LOVE sparkle pumps but...i have no idea where the cheaper cute brands of them would be...there are cheap stripper-y looking brands haha.

on nordstrom they have a cheap glitter shoe (i think it is steve madden...well cheaper like $89) but it isn't a peep toe. then there is an enzo angiolini "sully" platform glittler pump, but only in black and red and i felt like the platform part looked slightly stripperish in the red...but the black are cute (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/enzo-angiolini-sully-platform-pump-nordstrom-exclusive/3126665?origin=keywordsearch&resultback=1125). then the peep toes jump up to like $200 :/

THESE are my fav ones i found, from nordstrom. $90. but i think they're cute and not strippery. they aren't as colorful as you'd prob like...but silver and gold. the silver is hologram-y so it gives it a little bit of color! i think they are pretty and fun and in the price range!
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/enzo-angiolini-sully-platform-pump-nordstrom-exclusive/3126667?origin=related-3126667-0-0-2

i have no idea where else to look. i feel like sparkle pumps are still very couture and i haven't seen a lot of them < $200. steve madden and nine west both make peep toe glitter pumps, but only in black and gold (and potentially silver). i hope you find some!! if you do please let us know WHERE

^ I found some glittery black pumps for $30 at Rack Room Shoes

they look just like the Steve Madden ones (minus the obvious line under the toe.. mine blend a little better)

and, to be honest, they were just as uncomfortable as the pricey Steve Madden ones, which is why I bought them

^ like! good to know. i, like wolfy, would also love some peep toe colorful ones, but would def go for some black or gold closed toe, as well because i love them so much!!

ALSO: do any of you guys have mattress toppers? i have that serta 4 inch memory foam mattress topper on a full bed and the full/queen fitted sheet is NOT working out for me. should i buy a king fitted sheet? has anyone else done that? just because it is a bitch to get over the topper and pulled down far enough on the actual mattress so that it doesn't pull off with the slightest movement (like in the night). but i didn't know if a king sheet would help or just be really wrinkly because of the extra room...which is also annoying.

random. haha.

Got the dress in that I posted a few pages ago! The fabric is thin & cheap, which I expected from the price. Also it's a bit long. BUT it fits good! overall I'd say I'm happy with it. not a great pic but here you go

^ very cute!! that neckline is very attractive on you. i vote for higher heels with it though ;-) or have the hem taken up just a touch

ok major break through today. went shopping with a girlfriend and went to macys. the guy was SUPER helpful and gave me a print out of all the stores in the country with the purple shoe in my size. there are 9 pair out there so my chances of getting them are good

also they are marked $99 in store but they're actually $50

yay now i have to figure out what the hell i can wear them with

aaaaand while shopping i found what i want for my bday

i have tiny wrists and this fits perfectly. i love bangles but can't usually wear them bc my small wrists. love love loveee!!! they come in different colors too but i like black the best

here is how it looks on for reference

and kadwhack, i have a pillow top and i use queen sheets, guess i have been lucky but i think a king fitted sheet would be ok. buy something not too expensive at marshalls or tjmaxx to try it out to see how it works for you!

does anyone own a pair of TOMS?

I want these:

and a girl in the library is wearing these, for you sequin fans:

and khcadwal, I used to use a mattress topper for about a year. I got aggravated as shit with the fitted sheet situation that I said F it. A queen was a little too big - I like a nicely, tight fitting sheet. And a full was too small

PS. HauteLook has 7 Jeans and clothing today!

i want toms too!! i like both of those!!! for some reason i have a new obsession with turquoise (and sometimes, teal too). so i really love the first pair you posted!

yea, my queen sheet is too small. i am NOT saying F it because this thing is amazing

so i guess i'll try a king (from like target) and wash it in hot water and see wassup

i like a tightly fitted sheet too but...i think i love my mattress topper more haha.

do you use any of the "next day" dry shampoo stuff? i know treseme makes it and it works pretty well. you could use that in your hair and then brush it through and wear your hair down more often on day 2. a better dry shampoo that i love is ojin (you get it at sephora). the small bottle is $10 but its awesome and lasts a while.

you can also use corn starch as a dry shampoo. its cheap and odorless. baby powder will work too but it will have that baby powder smell.

does anyone use a base or sealer on their eyelids? i picked some bare essentials eye make up base or sealer or whatever up at sephora this weekend

i also switched to bare essentials eye liner. i was using $2 drugstore stuff but my friend told me about the junk in them and that they tend to accelerate aging. i didnt want to chance it so i dropped $14 on eyeliner.. ha

im also switching to philosophy perfume- unconditional love. it smells amazing!! i got a sample from sephora and im trying it out this week.

and today i finally got an account on polyvore.com wtf took me so long? i love that website!!
and i have to say this just bc its funny. sperrys are coming into style out here in texas and it makes me giggle because they remind me of nc so much now i can finally wear sperrys here and not get looked at like im crazy!

I use Urban Decay Primer Potion as my base. It's pretty much the most awesome thing - makes the colors pop and look more like they do in the pan, and stay put. If you really need your eye make up sealed, get Benefit She-laq. Nothing budges under that stuff.

ooooh i want this dress. i need to lose weight before i'd wear it though. so cute for summer. only $35. want want want.

also want, only $19

also LOVE this for $32 but the XS and S are already gone

ok i think i'm gonna order the first 2 but i'm struggling with size, as usual. XS or S. i see the size chart but i usually wear smaller in dresses and tops than bottoms. i guess the rich people are lucky because they will order both and send back what doesn't work. but i don't wanna order 4 dresses haha. ughhhh. i guess i'm gonna get S and if they're too big then i'm SOL and i'll have to return them with no opportunity to exchange for a XS. the downfall of ideeli!
