actually to answer your questions^^ and 'opinions' ^

the update will download to itunes 10.5. so you have to update itunes first or it won't install.

here's the trick though make sure you have your apps synced and organized based on screens to the right in the itunes program. make sure you check the box! or it will basically restore your phone and you'll have to manually add your programs back later and fix them by hand.

so yeh it's not as clear cut as just 'oohh durr download and install and everything is herp derp perfect'

so just beware of that

he didn't really talk about notifications on ios5

they are pretty cool. that annoying blue pop-up never comes up anymore when you get a notification.. instead the lock screen builds a uitableview of your NSNotifications and you can individually slide to unlock each one and go directly to that app

another observation from a few weeks using ios5 on my ip4 is that safari is much smoother. you can multitask in general a lot quicker

oh and 'reader' if you open safari and have a webpage that has sucky formatting for mobile phone you can press it and you get a neatly organized article perfect for the iphone screen.

oh and iCloud and wireless sync's.

you can basically set it to to sync photos/videos/docs/contacts/ etc/etc/ to iCloud whenver you want or do it manually or even schedule it. it's pretty freakin sweet. nothing is basically lost now on a daily backup basis.

it's pretty cool to actually sync to your itunes without even plugging it in. you just turn your computer on and you can do that stuff in the background

my iTunes give me an error message "connection has timed out" when downloading the update after reaching 99%. I tried it multiple times within last couple of weeks and get the same result every time (have not tried downloading iOS5 yet). Has anyone run into this?

trying to update itunes on the bosses' computers & i'm having a problem. underneath the download progress bar, it says "a few seconds remaining - 102 of 103 mb" & it's stuck there. it's been stuck there for about 7-8 minutes. i tried pausing it but it won't pause. wtf is going on
