Sushi for lunch was a brilliant idea!!! I got 4 rolls and a salad for the price I would've gotten 3 rolls, no salad at night. Nom nom nom.
Turning "date night" into "drunk night" last night was a less brilliant idea.....although extremely fun.
Now it is nap time zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 2/18/2011 2:37:44 PM |

Man, I was bitching and moaning about having to go into work today on my day off to work overtime.
Now that I'm back home, I'm glad that I did. I was able to catch a mistake that otherwise would have gone unnoticed until it was too late. And was able to help a coworker out

In order to link to something on a website, it must be hosted on a server at some IP address or registered domain name (which then resolves to an IP address); if you're lazy you can get an account at http://www.dyndns.com/ or http://www.no-ip.com/ and set up a local web server on your computer (like [link]http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html">XAMPP) and put The Word in the "htdocs" or "public_html" directory, or if you're not so lazy you can use an FTP program to send The Word to your website
but either way you'll still have the problem that Web browsers don't understand .exe files; for the most part they understand Internet media types like "text/html" and "text/plain" and "text/css" but pretty much any executable is "application/octet-stream" which is almost always just downloaded to be opened on your computer. Also unless "theword.exe" is all that was in the "TheWord" directory, your visitors won't even be able to use it unless they can download everything else, so you would need to zip up that whole directory, put that on your site, and tell people to download and unzip and that's a pain.
If you have a set of HTML files or a Web app that outputs them, you can put it up on your site, or if you like one of the many e-Bibles on the Internets, just link to that; Bible Gateway and Oremus are good resources. If you have a PDF you can upload that and people with Adobe Reader or something similar can read it; a good one is https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://www.allsaintstupelo.com/Bible_NRSV.pdf 2/18/2011 4:18:42 PM |

Actually, I think that you are way cooler than I am
Interestingly enough, this reminds me of an article that I read not too long ago. It was about expects vs. novices....
Apparently, people that are experts in their field always feel as if they are not the best. This pushes them to get better, because they feel as if someone out there is better than them... and they MUST get better in order to keep up.... in turn, propelling them to being more awesome. While novices, convince themselves that they are awesome, and become complacent....sinking into hodgepodgery. There was even a term placed on this spectacle. I can't remember it for the life of me though...
the long short of things.....I'm striving to be as awesome as TroopofEchos 2/18/2011 10:32:08 PM |

I'm just now seeing your response, but here's the backstory
Long long time ago (prolly 10-11yrs), my SIL's then roommate owned this cat. Roommate moved in with bf whom had a dog. Dog hated cat. SIL inherits cat, but is allergic. She and my brother kept her for ~1yr until allergies became unbearable. SIL gave cat to her sister (whom is also my bff from high school). Bff was the proud owner of Wickett for the past 7 years. She loved this cat. Bff has baby; baby is allergic to cats. She looked for a home.
Now, my cat allergies are weird. Some cats I'm highly allergic to and can't be in the same room with. Some I can tolerate in small doses. Some don't bother me at all. I've never been tested so I don't know the pinpoint of it all, but I was never highly allergic to wicket so I offered to take her. This thrilled my bff, my sil and my bro bc she truly is the sweetest cat I have ever encountered, and she would remain "in the family." we've had her just over a year. (she's about 12 yrs old)
Well I am increasingly getting worse the longer cat is around. It's very obvious now that I'm pregnant. I break out in hives when I touch her now, which has never happened before. My eyes are itchy and watery pretty much all the time when I'm home. And only when I'm home.
I hate it, but I at least need to talk to everyone to see what could be done. She's sooooo sweet. Just a purrbox. I know some others offered to take Wickett. I'm hoping that might still be an option.
So there's my very long and delayed response

awwww dang that situation sucks!!! i mean yea, you are clearly allergic to where it interferes (i mean hives! eeek) and that is a problem. pooooor kitty though. hopefully you can find someone in your fam or that you know to take her so that you can still see her. or maybe even get her back after bebe if allergies (you and baby) calm down?
could she be an outdoor cat?? or maybe she already is, i don't know.
that is def a tough situation but i hope it works out!!! if you need help finding her a home let me know and i will keep my eyes and ears peeled but i know you wanna ask around your fam and friends first to see what can be done! 2/18/2011 10:46:15 PM |

Nah she's indoor. Sweet tiny little dwarf himalayan wickett
Aka wiggy
Aka wiggles
I'm gonna talk to my bff first...she owned her longest so I want her to be a big part in finding her a good home or solution. I feel like I'm letting everyone down by coming to this point though. 2/18/2011 10:48:57 PM |

well it isn't your fault though! its not like you are one of those people that gets preggers and is like "ok gotta get rid of my cat because they have a litter box and cats are bad for pregnant ladies"
you are getting HIVES that is no bueno.
yea my cat is indoor too (both of them). i'd be too sad to put them outdoors. but obviously if i were in your situation i'd consider it maybe. i dunno what i'd do. cry. then maybe find someone to take them temporarily and hope the allergies subsided after the baby popped out.
but i have had my one cat for 5 years and my other one for 1 so i'm kind of attached (esp to the 5 year one...we've been through a lot hahaha...so lame).
i hope it works out!!! good kittes are good friends. i never thought i'd be a cat person, but got a cat in college because they are MUCH easier to care for than dogs and i wanted an animal companion of some sort. now i <3 cats (at least my cats anyway!) 2/18/2011 10:56:32 PM |

On the travel channel Basically this dude is convinced you can re-connect to your inner hunter/gatherer instincts no matter where you live . . . and often tries to re-create crazy things like building a boat out of a stick frame and buffalo hide (that he hunted and skinned) like early pioneers
