You guys are harsh, I'm not here to troll........geez. Matter of fact the only reason I posted anything yesterday is because someone asked for the score. Seriously.
Anywho......don't expect me to post today I'll be at a bar watching some Rookie get pounded by the mighty Cards.
But......before I go.
Good luck. 4/9/2006 6:39:03 PM |

Pujols homers, crowd looked full, and they won.

then 3 games on the road with the Pirates

^^Did you ever get to the game in the old Busch? I'm wondering how it stacks up to the new one. I was mad when they built the new one for traditions sake...that was a great place to watch a baseball game, and it would take one hell of a stadium to change my mind.
^good, as long as we dont lose to the pirates....I fucking hate them...didnt we get in a bunch of shit with them last season also? for some reason I remember my roommate talking smack about it.

yep, went to 2 games in the old busch
they really are designed similarly, bullpens are in the exact same location, really the only difference is the old busch was circular, and closed in, the new busch has a more modern feel, the brickwork is nice, and there are a lot of nice box/club levels, but i was in the bleachers and did not get to see any of that
i think they said unofficially it holds about 5k less than old busch, and there are 2 less boxes, but the boxes are bigger, nicer, etc
they brought over a lot of the old scoreboards, and they still have the scores from around the league from the last day in old busch up, they also have a line where the left field wall was, that you can see in the sidewalk, and there are some cool sculptures of all of the 7 cardinal symbols as they have evolved over the years,
food sucked, that was the only problem with me, they got a contract with hardees, and another large food vendor, nachos were garbage, and hotdog sucked....food in the old busch was just better
my friend told me that the club food was good, but nothinig too special, they are still building and have some work to do, so i will give the food another fair shake later this summer.
that is about all i can think of for now! 4/14/2006 1:06:53 PM |

damn....
well as long as they didnt fuck up the beer and peanuts then it will do.
Man, when I was little there was nothing better than getting a soda and nachos or peanuts.
But it cant fucking believe they sold out to hardees. Thats stupid, of all the fast food chains, they picked the worst one. 4/14/2006 1:18:24 PM |

Haven't seen the new stadium, but I hear a lot of people say they don't like it in comparison to the old Busch. A lot of large box offices for groups, but not many seats. Apparently, the price of tickets and food has also shot up big time.
But at least they moved the Stan Musial statue to the new Busch, so they did get something right. I hear the whole season's been sold out so far.
Did anyone ever manage to hit a ball out of the old Busch? I remember in the 80s, Jack Clark had apparently hit a foul ball that kind of went out of the park, but no one as of about the mid-90s had ever hit a home run out of the park. Had it been broken since then?

I remember McGwire hitting a few upper deckers but none really got close to going out....that would be one huge blast.
I remember when I was younger going to games and hoping they would hit one out, and someone got close with a foul ball one time, but still ended up 10 rows away from it. I'm pretty sure that was physically impossible though.

Pujols hits 3 jacks in an 8-7 win today, and hit a two run walkoff homer.
I was listening to fox radio and heard that cincy came back in the 8th to take the lead and I thought for sure we were fucked the way things have been going this year.
thx to Pujols....I think he drove in Jason Marquis...whowas pinch hitting if I heard that correctly. 4/16/2006 6:15:56 PM |
