haha if i told you the weight that made my legs feel like jello you'd probably shit yourself(not going to tell how much weight i used cause its so pathetic)

legs have been the one group(back being the next one) that i've almost always neglected...i got off my back neglect...i'm gonna try to work myself up to working legs out twice a week once i lose my initial 2 sets to jello feeling

what do you all suggest for increasing squat weight?

training legs once a week is plenty. they'll always be sore after a workout, but you'll get over the initial stiffness after a couple more workouts.

[Edited on July 12, 2007 at 3:27 PM. Reason : squat deep. weight doesn't mean a thing if you're not going to parallel]

^^in fact i did squat low...you sent me a pm a week or so ago talking about going low which is why i used even less weight than normal...but i went deep as hell...made sure my knees didnt go too far in front of my feet...also noticed the burn in my ass more than normal

^i'll look up the star jumpers thing

squatting deep works your glutes and hamstrings harder. If you've ever seen a stripper go into a gym to do a workout, they usually focus on deep squats and lunges.

if you have a bicycle try to ride it a lot more. maybe if you are going somewhere and you have extra time and it doesn't matter if you are all sweaty. but its great butt, thigh, and calve workout. plus cardio. and without the shock of running.

ftw

^i'm in Wilimington all summer so i work out down here. but when school gets back in i'm always looking for someone to consistently hit up carmichael with

Is that a regular power rack (not a smith machine)? If so, I'm envious.

[Edited on July 12, 2007 at 3:41 PM. Reason : bike riding doesn't sub a weight workout, sorry]

club weider 560...my parents got it about 6 years ago and finally let me have it when i moved into my one bedroom....its a regular squat rack and has lat pull...came with ez curl bar also which isnt pictured

it has a lat pull and one at the bottom also that i use for deltoids...use lat pull as tricep extension too

also use the bottom pulley for seated rows

I mean I don't see how, but my mom's friend told me that when he was younger he had sex on a croch rocket going 80mph... I call bullshit... cause i wondered this many times and there is no way with a tank at your croch that you can fit anything else down there...

how bad is liquor..i know beer can lead to a "beer gut" but is wine and liquor bad?

if i had to guess(this is only a guess) it'd go like this beer < wine < liquor

just seems like vodka is all clear and doesnt have a lot of calories

liquor isn't going to be any better for you than drinking miller lite or similar light beers. ethanol is what causes the body to predisposition itself towards storing fat around vital organs, not the impurities in the drink.

depends on the type of wine. some wines don't contain a lot of excess sugar, contain beneficial antioxidants, and raise your HDL cholesterol. then there's crap like wild irish rose and boone's farm.

If you're going to drink, then drink what you like. If you like beer, then drink a light beer you can enjoy. if you normally drink liquor, then drink liquor.

be careful when drinking liquor with sugar free mixers. I've read some reports that indicate that sugar free mixers make your body process alcohol almost twice as fast and can result in almost double the BAC you would normally have if you drank the liquor by itself or with a sugary mixer.

i usually* try to do back/biceps, tricepts/deltoids/chest, legs

those are my workouts...today i didnt do biceps with back cause i worked out back really hard and didnt want to do more

to go along with my edit...say i do shoulders one whole day...then if i do bench the next my shoulders hurt and i feel like i'm overtraining deltoids before they heal

[Edited on July 16, 2007 at 2:48 AM. Reason : that way i can work out things without other muscles of the exercise being sore]

i like to do chest, arms, legs, shoulders, back

usually throw in a pretty solid ab workout on cardio days, and sometimes do some ab work after other workouts

I use the same split, although I do almost nothing for biceps and triceps since I do so many compound movements anyway. I only do about 3 working sets of one exercise for the middle deltoid muscle on chest day.

I've started throwing in a 4th day of abs, shoulders, biceps, and triceps. It makes me feel like a beach bum working arms separately, but I've noticed a difference in the progress I'm making on bench and rowing movements.
