We had a twister pass overhead this afternoon. Was watching the radar and the storm that was headed our way was showing the bow effect (where the storm bows out is often times an indicator of very unstable conditions likely to cause a tornado), sky turned dark as shit in just a few seconds, and it hailed quarter sized hail before the rain. I was just about to get us all in the bathroom, but that was all I saw.

Found out a couple hours later that a twister did hit less than 10 miles directly east of town less than 10 minutes after it passed over my town and injured at least 2. The news channels are still trying to send crews to find out what happened, but it sounds like we came really fucking close to having a twister drop down on us. Freaky shit.
