Plenty of times, like last season when someone (Kate, I think) was talking to Danielle about the others they saw, and that she had seen a young girl with brown hair and blue eyes. Danielle had a sigh of relief. Pretty obvious there.

Although a character has never come out and specifically said it, Alex is Danielle Rousseau;s (aka "The French Lady") daughter. Back in Maternity Leave when we found out what happened to Claire when Ethan took her, we first see her. And when Danielle rescues Claire she asks "Did you see a girl, long dark hair?" (something like that, just paraphrasing). Claire says yes and Danielle seems relieved. Danielle had said her daughter's name was Alex and if she's been there about 16 years, "Slingshot Sally" is about the right age. It's implied that Alex is her daughter.

Back on topic~ Things that they should have addressed by now that bother me:

We still havent found out who "Jacob" is and we still havent seen the guy with the eye patch that was watching through the hatch cameras again. I read on an interview with the LOST writers from right after the S3 break that both (perhaps they are the same?) of these characters play major roles.

To me, it seems probable that the smoke monster protects the Others main village on the main island, which is one reason that the LOSTies havent found it yet. The french woman (who goes by many names around here) also hasnt popped up recently. Odd....

Yeah. the last episode with the new, european main characters (that nobody liked and that we oddly havent seen since?!?!?) was when we saw him. If I remember right, the new euro chick (hottie) pushed some button and they were then able to see the other end of the hatch cameras until "eye patch" guy took out the one out on his end....
