oh by drowning i was thinking they were holding them and then disposing. i suppose that wouldnt be bad.
electrocution doesn't sound too horrible provided they had enough voltage... i mean hell they electrocute people.
there's really know non-cruel way to paint hanging tho. 7/18/2007 6:46:41 PM |

federal prosecutors have a 95% conviction rate.
like the g-man said on the pacman show today, the next time we see vick, he'll be in the newest remake of the longest yard. good riddance. 7/19/2007 12:40:40 AM |

6 is the MAX. He will prolly get like 6months to a year, and be out in 3 months or so with good behavior. Afterall, go look up some convictions on dog fighting. I am not bored enough to do this, but I doubt anyone with no record gets the max or even close to it for this. Not that I condone dog fighting, but it I doubt anyone ever gets years for it. And I would bet the case is "somewhat" weak since it took them SO LONG to get an indictment. I am willing to bet its just a buch of his so called friends/family wanting to rat him out to save themselves. If Vick really was SO involved, and SUCH a big player in the dog fighting world, dont you think a hint of it would have come out by now, since he has apparently been involved in it for 7 years?? Someone would have gotten him on video and sold it by now. He will get a conspiracy conviction and a month or so in jail, or even probation out of this. Its being blown way out of proportion. 7/19/2007 1:19:59 AM |

federal prosecutors dont indict people unless they have a solid case....hence the 95% conviction rate.
and it "took so long" because at first this was being investigated by local authorities. the feds only just recently stepped in....they didn't take so long

I never said he wouldn't be convicted. But he most likely will not serve the 6 years some people are saying. Like I said, and you failed to read, he will more than likely be convicted of something, and serve a minimal sentence.7/19/2007 1:37:42 AM |

even if Vick (all his speed/skill aside) was a Carolina Panther, this would just be too much for me to condone it...just because something is a subculture doesnt mean its right
at least in boxing, ufc, etc the fighters have the choice of fighting 7/19/2007 1:45:21 AM |
RoyalFlush Suspended 798 Posts user info edit post |
They do have a weak case. If ANY evidence of him being at dog fights, promoting them etc, existed, it would have made its way to the surface at some point in the past 7 years they are claiming. No offense, but the broke black dudes around those fights would have sold this info/video long ago if it did exist. Once again, I don't see much coming of this, unless some stingy brother held on to this "evidence" only to give it to the government for free, which we all know didnt happen. People in that so called gambling world are in it to make money, and any evidence of Vick in this is a big pay day, yet we didnt here even the slightest peep till his COUSIN got busted at a house he owned. Why is that? Hmmmm, sounds like the government fishing to me. This is the 5% they dont make public I suppose
I am willing to admit that he owned the house and had some knowledge of what was going on, but I seriously doubt he was present at fights or personally killed dogs as some are having us to belive.

Well surprise surprise he's a superstar much like Ray Lewis so the NFL will let the system run its course before deciding to suspend or not suspend him. I bet Pacman is pissed. Are the Falcons playing Philly this year in Philly? Their fans will be brutal on him. Hopefully this will make him have a bad year so the NFC South gets a little easier for the Panthers. 7/19/2007 8:52:34 AM |

They're definitely kicking themselves for removing a very capable first string QB. If culpepper wants to go to Atlanta, no doubt they'll pick up him for insurance. Harrington is... well Harrington. Even if Culpepper goes to ATL though, Harrington will start. Culpepper is bench material now.7/19/2007 9:03:13 AM |

according to espn the commish called and spoke with the falcons and they agreed to let him play as the legal process runs its course. I hope someone hits him with bottles, boos him everytime he touches the ball, and pickets the fuck out of wherever he plays. I personally think the commish is making a big, big mistake letting this fucking prick step foot on the field. 7/19/2007 11:08:07 AM |

agreed, like I don't blame Duke for kicking the students off the LAX team upon indictment, I wouldn't blame the commissioner for suspending vick indefinitely until his legal problems are solved.

Yeah, I mean who are all these white men trying to subvert the black man's subcultural activities and one of their most touted cultural icons? Don't they know that they will all go the way of the Imus if they don't heel to their black-special-interest-bitch-about-everything-and-anything-that-gets-them-more-attention-and-media-coverage masters?
But yeah... no matter what kind of federal penalty he faces, the only one I care to see him face is the one that is bound to (and better) come down from the NFL....7/19/2007 12:30:14 PM |

RoyalFlush - 6 yrs is the max for current charges. There could still be a whole slew more coming. Tax evasion, cruelty to animals, multiple counts for the same charges also equals more time. For federal charges people convicted must serve 80% of their sentence.
Vick is screwed. I just wish there was a way for him to get kicked out of the league before this year begins. If I was the coach, I would give him time off to take care of legal matters, b/c we all know that this is going to be a major distraction to other players if Vick is still in the locker room. 7/19/2007 12:42:03 PM |

a. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2007/0717072vick1.html you can read here the evidence that they do have
b. they have all ready pretty much said that the other 3 co-defendants will be striking up deals and testifying against Vick. He was the ringleader of this whole thing. Bought the house just for the purposes of training dogs.
also it was said yesterday that when someone is being charged with conspiracy
Quote : | "One important feature of a conspiracy charge is that it relieves prosecutors of the need to prove the particular roles of conspirators. If two persons plot to kill another (and this can be proven), and the victim is indeed killed as a result of the actions of either conspirator, it is not necessary to prove with specificity which of the conspirators actually pulled the trigger." |
and
Quote : | "It is also an option for prosecutors, when bringing conspiracy charges, to decline to indict all members of the conspiracy (though their existence may be mentioned in an indictment)." |
so regardless of what Vick's actual role was in all of this, all the mentioned murdering of dogs and such will be considered being done by Vick regardless of whether he is the one who actually did it.
Vick is going to get a lengthy prison sentence , they have assigned the toughest judge in the district to this case. They aren't even really interested in taking down the other defendants, just Vick which would be a pinnacle in any prosecutors career.
^and i wouldn't be surprised if he does get suspended in the near future. This is still only a couple days old. One thing I heard today on sports radio today is that a mass demonstration/march is going to be held at Atlanta's first day of training camp. People coming from all over the country. It's basically going to be a huge circus, and Vick won't even be there. The calling for Vick's suspension is going to continue to snowball long before a verdict is brought forward.

this dude is so fucked....on espn they are talking about the financial aspects surrounding decisions of kicking Vick out of Atlanta. The falcons have a legal battle with his contract....
He supposedly has been paid around 40mil of his original deal and the falcons can actually try and gain back 29.5 mil of that because they consider it signing bonuses. They are talking about him taking a leave of absence...paying him the 6 million for the season, dropping him from the roster if he is guilty, and then taking back the bonus money. That would leave him with practically nothing once his legal fees are paid.....BYE BYE MICHAEL DICK! 7/20/2007 1:55:34 PM |
