Calling Wallace or Richardon a superstar is like calling Sean Bean an A-list actor

They're really good, but haven't shown they can carry a winning team yet

There's no superstars on teams that win 1/3 of their games, with a few notable exceptions

like Dwayne Wade

how many superstars are in the league though? like 8 or 9? winning will bring the fans in

Yeah the definition of superstar is vague but there should be less than 10 in the league at any given time to keep it as an elite designation

Richardson can't ever be a superstar because his game is basically the same as many other players like Kobe, Carter, T-Mac, etc...he'll always be seen as few notches below them unless he continues going 38 and 14

Wallace has a higher ceiling because his game is so unique...his jumper has improved a lot, but if it ever gets really good, he could be a borderline top 10 player in the league. Being in Charlotte won't help his marketability but there's really no one in the league like him right now...I'd say the closest would probably be Sean Marion, but put Wallace on Phoenix instead and I wouldn't bet against him having similar numbers to the Matrix

btw treetwista, I see you've picked up 2k8 finally...let me know whenever you want an asswhooping

Love the Sean Bean reference

I can't really use it that much in casual conversation since not that many people know who he is

They know the face, but not the name

You just compared Richardson to Kobe.

A guy who isn't one of the top 50 players in the league to a guy that has been hands down top 5 for the past ~7 years.

Thats ridiculous.

CHarlotte not too far out of contention but i dont see us outplaying the Bulls from here on out. Going to have to catch the Hawks. The Pacers will go down no contest

I compared Richardson to Kobe in that thier games were the same...high scoring shooting guards with the ability to finish

I didn't indicate their skill levels were close

Matt Carroll has the same type of game as Michael Redd...great shooter but not the most athletic guy in the world

Their skill levels aren't close either

maybe the Bobcats will do like the Nets did and tell Jeff McInnis to not even show up for practice or games since and that he was never going to play

hell maybe McInnis will go back to Jersey if Kidd gets moved...he can back up Marcus Williams...then he can 'back up' Marcus Williams' laptop!

"we should sign "little" earl boykins.

I would love to see him in a 'Cats jersey and I think he would be a good addition, especially if Felton is limited or ineffective this season. Sammy V would just have to tell Little Earl that he can't shoot as much as he would like.

11/7/2007 6:15:25 PM"

called it on page 17. though actually, we are gonna need Earl's offense.

but, HELL YEAH!! Sam Vincent basically has taken a shit on Jeff McInnis, probably with advice from Phil Ford.

Wallace practiced at full speed yesterday, should be back tonight when we take on the Spurs @ San Antonio at 8:30pm on News14

I certainly don't expect us to win, but I haven't seen a regular season NBA game in like 5 days so I'm pumped

I keep thinking its time to start rooting for losses and a chance at Beasley, Rose, Mayo, etc.

But then I look at the standings in the East and think "Hey, why not us?"

Haha this team played such an easy schedule early that it gave us a false hope that this team was going to be good.....sucks.

Maybe this time around we won't Adam Morrison our pick. Watching Roy at the AS game made me so mad.

My question is, after Roy basically said he wouldn't play for us why didn't we go for Rudy Gay, the same type player Roy is?

unlike Roy...Rudy Gay doesn't fit the same mold as the players we had been drafting. (character, lots of college, seen to be hard-working)

But on that note, I though Gay was exactly what we needed. he is who I thought we'd draft and who we needed to draft. I Didn't like the idea of drafting Roy because I thought he had reached all of his potential and wouldn't be an NBA star but clearly a solid roleplayer.....this may be why I'm not a GM.

Does this mean we have completely given up on Adam giving us anything next year?

I still think Adam could definitely be a nice 6th man in this league...we better get something good out of him next year though or he's gone

LoL Primoz got trade again yesterday to Toronto for Juan Dixon

I think like 2/3 of the raptors are Europeans now

Quote :
" It's hard to see how the Bobcats make the leap from here. The Nazr Mohammed trade earlier in the season hurt their cap flexibility, and signing Okafor to a big deal will cap them out. Adam Morrison looks like a bust. The Bobcats seemed to be stuck in mediocrity."

its kind of hard to pull for your team to lose early in the season when you're beating quality teams and well in the playoff discussion in the shitty eastern conference

Fuck Hibbert

Give me Beasley first, then Rose, Gordon, Lopez, Thabeet or Jordan....I see us picking like 5-9, so the top few will probably be out of our reach

i like hibbert myself...kinda clumsy but there arent a lot of legit 7' + centers...plus he's black which is sometimes good in basketball...dunno though, i'm thinking what position we need, etc

I don't think we are in a position to draft for position. We still need to go after talent, because we don't seem to have much of that.

I like hibbert, just not sure he is worth a high lottery pick. He is definitley a project.

Hibbert will be a serviceable backup center in the NBA.

I could see him averaging 5-6 ppg, and 4 reb in the league some day.

I'm not sure that would push us over the top.

We need a big time player in the draft, period.
