ok while im still playing dynasty with Oregon, i started my 1*-6* achievement dynasty with i think the 2nd worst rated overall team in the game(i dont count byu at a 67 cause they are better than that coming off a 11-2 record). The team being Univ of Louisiana-Monroe(overall rating 70): the perennial cupcake of the ncaa franchise...I figure i might as well give myself a challenge, and yes ill be playing on heisman difficulty.

this should be fun

yea they were rated the same, but i played with fiu and fl atl one year just to mess around, i think it was ncaa 05, maybe 06, i cant remember...anyway i felt like trying it with someone who i havent played with before, and someone who sucked

for anyone who needs a pretty good team as a 1*, i think it was western michigan who had the 81 overall rating, they looked pretty good on offense when i was lookin at the rosters

so my first game with ULM against tulsa was fairly easy, with a 42-14 win...maybe this wont be as hard as i figured...(except my next 2 games are on the road at clemson and at texas a&m, along with a road trip to alabama in week 12...brutal stadiums to have to play at)

my rush defense, like it has been in almost every ncaa game, is stellar, my average is prob around 0 yards/game given up on defense. still cant stop the pass, neither zone or man marking has worked for me so i just blitz almost every play. zone blitzes i never do now, they are recipes for disaster on heisman...

i uploaded a clip from my last game against tulsa to show you guys part of my problem with defending the pass. watch this crap:

http://www.easportsworld.com/#video-5803/EA%20SPORTS%20WORLD/4528

this happens prob about 5-10 plays per game with the opposing qb. the cpu might as well do a backflip and launch the ball out his ass, cause that is about as realistic as seeing this in a game. and i dont know how to defend that...i dont have time to either sack the qb, or change to the defender and try to at best swat that away(i was lucky here, cause if he catches that he prob spins around me and is gone for a td)...as a user qb, that would be a pick 6 if i tried something like that...the only real problem i have now with this game is this, i have seen countless receptions from the cpu with the qb throwing while on a dead sprint backwards and getting hit...my only guess is this is mostly done on heisman to counteract all my blitzing, but it is still frustrating to see some of these passes.

i wish i had a better clip to show, but this just happened and i decided to save that one

/extra long rant

My first snow game. In season 3 @ BC... It's madness... can't see any lines at all and it's a blizzard...

^yeah its certainly a change of pace...replays look pretty cool too...only real field markers seem to be the pileons

playing with Ball State I seem to have about 2 snow games a year...I've noticed that there are actually different levels of snow...ranging from being able to see the lines with only a thin cover of snow, to barely being able to see the lines, to blizzard like you're talking about

my only complaint is if you slide or dive it doesnt seem to really clear the snow out from that one spot like i remember an older Madden game doing

It also seems like when it is snowing or raining that fumbles occur more often. Anyone else notice that?

yea the rain does cause more fumbles ive noticed...when playing my oregon dynasty i think i get about 4 home games in the rain(good thinking picking a northwest team )...but what pisses me off is ill play the cpu in the rain, and ill have like 3 or 4 fumbles, and they maybe, MAYBE, have 1 fumble in the game.

lately its really the only way the cpu can hang with me when im playing with a decent team on heisman, otherwise ill prob win by a few td's

finally got my first dynasty loss yesterday on my Univ of Louisiana-Monroe dynasty..Clemson beat me at Death Valley by 10 after i fumbled the ball 2 straight times at the end of the 3rd qtr and beginning of the 4th quarter, the latter being a fumble return for a TD

gotta get Big Tank (QB - NC State), the 94-speed scambler who won the Heisman for the Wolfpack during his freshman year, into Madden for my dynasty there...he also set the NCAA career rushing TD record late in his sophomore year lol

Below is PM's final set. The one adjustment some of us have made (myself included) is changing both cpu and hum TKL to 35, and lowering cpu and hum INT to 5. Otherwise these play great!

Playmakers 360 NCAA AA Sliders
FINAL VERSION

You can increase the Human AWR but I wouldn't go any higher than 10 mainly because none of the CPU's offensive sliders are set higher than Default 50. Your going to notice right away they can still move the ball even without increasing their Skill Players or Blocking Sliders. But if you start jacking up the Human AWR it could effect their ability to move the ball vs your defense.

ALL AMERICAN (7-9 MINUTES)

HUMAN/CPU

haha i just threw a 20 yard touchdown pass off of play action to State's sophomore offensive guard in my campus legend mode

i think its Mike Golder, Jr. (he's a freshman IRL but i'm in year two)

http://www.gopack.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=41954&SPID=3730&DB_OEM_ID=9200&ATCLID=1146054&Q_SEASON=2007

the computer had him lined up at tight end for some reason so he was eligible...dunno...it was funny though cause he looks way to big and fat to be running a route and catching a TD pass

Haha so I was going into my 4th week of recruiting (3rd season) and the last few players I had targeted dropped me from first out of their top 5, like everyone one of them and it baffled me. So I kept recruiting thinking maybe it just didn't like my approach last week.

Then I realized that I had already given out all 25 of my scholarships, haha.
#1 Recruiting Class:
7 5-Star
13 - 4-Star
3 - 3-Star
2 - 2-Star

I took State up to #1 in a couple years, so decided to go the route you guys did and pick lower teams...

really tough getting used to after building up a powerhouse. I decided to try North Texas just to get used to a lower level school. I use a run heavy offense and they have a decent back...

still tough to get my ass handed to me week 1 traveling to Texas.

entering season 4 with oregon after an insane recruiting class, 5 of the 5* recruits are starting(4 of which are >84 overall rating). first game is against new mexico and my scrambler freshman qb destroyed it, won 63-0 on heisman, nothing too impressive since they werent that good, but the funny thing from this game was the AI decided at around 42 or 49-0 that they would just go blitzkrieg on me the rest of the game. so i scrap all PA passes and just look for slants over the middle, i couldnt believe how dumb of a decision the AI made...

prob the last 20 offensive plays i made were against a blitz where only 3 or 4 def guys were left to cover my receivers

but since im prob getting madden, i really cant wait to get this qb when he goes pro...i will trade my qb who will prob be good enough for a #1 pick in the draft at the time just so i can get this guy

once i got oregon to 6* team, and got the #1 recruiting class this game just got too easy..on heisman, at the horseshoe, i just beat ohio state 53-17(with one of those TD's being a ridiculous fumble that they returned for a td)...so now im mostly using this dynasty to create draft classes for madden when i eventually buy that. im just raping the cpu in the passing game, out routes and crossing routes all game long, i still cant figure out the deep ball, but timing is crucial on the crossing routes or else the super-linebackers will get int's...but ive figured out how the AI reacts when throwing and throwing on the run as well...the running game was already easy as long as you have a fast back who is > 80 overall rating, he will just bounce off tackles all game long.

so now i guess i will mostly be trying the 1*-6* achievement since that was a challenge at first with 1*, but that can only last so long...

I'm playing my last regular season game of my 3rd year with Ball State right now...and I'm witnessing the FOURTH DIFFERENT kind of snowy weather animation...this is the lightest snow I've seen...I can see all the yardlines, the BALL STATE text in the endzones etc

Basically I'm just saying its pretty cool that there are AT LEAST 4 different strengths of snow in this game, all noticeably different

edit:

actually now the field is harder to see than when the game started...GG, EA Sports

so I started a campus legend, taking my highly touted mobile QB to state and getting the starting job after a few practices

two observations
1. the offensive coordinator at state sucks at calling plays - back-to-back-to-back FB runs are key apparently
2. state's offensive line is horrible - the run blocking absolutely sucks

jesus, how about this for a stat line:

(on heisman difficulty, 6 min qtrs)

Oregon(me)
Total Offense - 559 yds
Rushes - Yards - TD - 43-218-2
Comp - Att - TD - 23-30-4
Passing Yards - 341

UCLA(cpu, ranked 8th coming into the game, 8th week of the season, undefeated)
Total Offense - -22 yds(yes negative, on heisman, to a team with all A's for their team ratings)
Rushes - Yards - TD - 15-(-54)-0
Comp - Att - TD - 5-8-0
Passing Yards - 32

Final Score of the game:

Oregon 62
UCLA 3 (only reason they got 3 is this game makes me fumble a shit load)

sadly, i have figured out about every aspect of this game so it is starting to lose its appeal to me.

here is a tip for anyone struggling on defense. this doesnt work with every blitz, but if you line it up right, most of the time it will. choose a formation with at least 2 LBs(i prefer the 3-3-5), and pick a blitz where the outside linebacker and middle linebacker are blitzing. if you are using a 3 down lineman formation, then just leave them set, move your outside linebacker over the guard(basically put him as close to the line without being offsides) i believe who will be in the gap between DT and DE. then slide the MLB right behind the blitzing OLB who you just set. use the MLB and run straight up the gap when the ball is hiked, you could very well win the heisman with this technique for your MLB, cause essentially you could rack up like 40 sacks a year.

*added* ^for that above technique, it may also depend on which way the formation shows the linebackers blitzing route. so picking a blitz where the linebackers run outside first may not be a good selection.

i dont do that technique everytime cause its like cheesing in mortal kombat, doing the same thing over and over. anyway, the offensive side of the ball is too easy now, even on heisman, the only way teams compete with me now is if i throw an early interception and my qb can never recover and i am fumbling all game too...ive won games where the turnover ratio was like 2:7 not in my favor...yes 7 turnovers.

i got like 50 sacks with a linebacker in a previous year's version of NCAA and didnt get the heisman, even though i'd have him playing offense and running the ball too...heisman voters must hate defensive players

I haven't read through the whole thread, but since I always try to block FGs, I have noticed one glitch in the game. If you get called for roughing the kicker (or running into when it is 4th and less than 5), and the CPU makes the kick, they will decline the penalty. The first time this happened I thought maybe it had to do with game situation or lack of confidence in the kicker. Since it happened against Clemson on a short FG in the first quarter, whose kicker was easily hitting 50+ yarders on me, it obviously is a bad coding in the game.

Either that or my ability to force turnovers strikes fear in the CPU.

well ucla, cal, and usc are all A rated teams in offense, defense, and spec teams in the year im at...and arizona state for some reason is like an A+ on offense, there isnt anything wrong with the conference, because no team in this game is going to have more talent or be better than USC

plus i get to rape california since im next door for all their recruits

There's part of your problem.

You act like you've taken every disadvantage there is and the game is still a cakewalk.

Try this:

Start a dynasty with a bad team in bumfuck nowhere.
Play Heisman with most of the sliders tweaked against you.
Don't cheese the computer. If anything in the game is unrealistic or gives you an unfair advantage, don't use it. A good example are the "MLB double blitzing one hole" and the jump-field-goal glitches.

Do all those and if you can still whine about the game being too easy, then you'll have an argument.

interesting topic now...if you want to make the game as hard as possible, ^do what he said but here are a couple other suggestions

- pick a shitty 1 star school for a dynasty
- let the computer recruit; dont throw pitches at ANYONE
- schedule the toughest possible OOC schedule with no home games
- redshirt all of your seniors
- the next season dont play any of your redshirt seniors
- in the offseason, make all of your linemen corners/receivers and make all of your dbacks and receivers linemen
- you'll lose every game like 50-6

^^and that is amusingly ridiculous. i want heisman to be hard, but not to the point that i cant do anything. i know i can quit doing certain things, but ive noticed that if you let the cpu qb have his way, unless you get the occasional sack, he will throw almost a perfect game. and i dont know if its anyone else, but when you switch to the def backs to go for picks, is anyone elses player you control either very slow to react or just unreceptive at all? [ive had so many opportunities to pick off passes but when i press y, tap y, or even hold y, the player just either doesnt react or reacts waaaay too late..and then i miss the tackle and the receiver is gone.

also it never switches to the player i want when the ball is in air, which gets annoying as well

It switches to the person closest to the ball. I try to stay away from messing with the defenders. Either I get an interception or the receiver is off to the races.
