This is the worst national team I can remember. They don't deserve South Africa.

DEMPSEY!!!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't play the ball behind your body when you don't know if a defender is there! Not winning at El Salvador is really going to hurt, if we lose or tie this.

lol salvador is beat mexico 1-0 at halftime. good result for us if we can hang on now

beasley you stupid ass idiot....nearly cost us the lead with a dumbass pass from the back right into the middle straight to a honduras player

spector has played well from what ive seen in this game. havent watched it all, but i have been calling for him to be playing for over a year now...

id like to take this edit moment to reiterate that beasley is garbage...kicked a free kick straight out of bounds

USA win 2-1. they looked good when i started watching at the 51st minute. prob couldve created a lot more chances if donovan knew how to cross a ball into the box. but feilhaber was a beast in the middle. was more of a playmaker than donovan. casey did really well holding the ball up for the little i saw before they brought beasley in for him

beasley is still awful.

spector was impressive on the right flying up and down as a wingback, he crosses better than donovan, thats sad on donovans part...he really needs to get out of the mls. if we are ever gonna be good again and/or challenge in the world cup, our 'A' players have to get out of the mls. you can tell the mls players on the field when it comes to national team play.

someone is gonna have to let me know how the first half went because honduras had 1, maybe 1 and a half chances from 51' to full time.

I thought everyone played a pretty good second half. They played with 100x the heart they showed at Costa Rica. Donovan did some good stuff on the left brining it up the field and Dempsey didn't let his bad touch wreck his night. I liked how clark never gave up and cleared the ball twice when Honduras had Howard beat on a wide open goal.

Alright! Mexico scored, so they are tied at 1-1. Hopefully it remains like that so both teams only get 1 point.

Here are the standings.

http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/preliminaries/nccamerica/standings/index.html

Wednesday 6-10-09

T&T at Mexico (Mexico City)
El Salvador at Honduras

After Mexico we host El Salvador, so we should be able to stay in the top 3. It would probably be nice if Costa Rica keeps winning, so they qualify before they play their final game at USA. Hopefully they would send a B squad, if we need a win.

Since I hate on Bradley all the time, I must give him credit for actually taking a chance on Feilhaber by bringing him in to camp and making the change at halftime... Feilhaber is so good to me, I have no idea why he's had such bad luck finding a club that will give him playing time. I think him and Bradley could be a very good pairing for us in the future but that's probably what I was saying two years ago and look at what's happened since.

JT, not sure why you're hating on Donovan so much... I thought he was very good tonight. I guess you missed the first half but he was very active and his corners/free kicks were MUCH better from Wednesday.

Agree about Spector but everybody knows he was good, it just seems like he's always been injured when the time has come for national team games. Clark over Mastro from now on please... at least Clark shows some signs of being able to handle himself offensively. Dempsey picked it up as the game went on but he was directly responsible for the goal so that shit needs to be cleaned up.

And finally... please pleeeeasse be the end of Beasley in a US jersey. I respect his contribution to the national team program and all but this has to be the end, right?

donovan was great in the 2nd half in field positioning and making runs, but the 40 minutes i watched i expect our "best" offensive player to be able to make good crosses when hes beaten his man or has him outpaced. i dont care if its left or right foot, its his job, he should have plenty of time to practice left foot crosses if hes weak on it. he wasted at least 3 if not 4 crosses that couldve been played into the box by either hitting it wrong or hitting it into the defender that wasnt even near him. in the past i would always get mad at a lot of his free kicks and corners too because they were low. and a few of these were low crappy looking crosses.

well, IMO that's another mark against Bradley as a coach because Donovan is not a winger and our game plan should not put him in that position so many times. Yeah, good players should be able to give better service no matter the circumstances... I just feel like a good coach would have found the best place for him to be on the field, and it's been almost three years and Bradley still hasn't.

I can't say enough about Feilhaber... dude changed the game completely when he came in.

^I feel like he did good on the left because of his speed. He still managed to work into the middle and on the right and attempt some shots on goal.

btw, USSF...Please quit scheduling games at soldier field. That is twice we have had to come from behind to win 2-1 there. Play at Crew Stadium because we always seem to win 2-0 there outside of the 1-1 tie with Jamaica.

^Don't worry! We are playing at Real Salt Lakes stadium in our next home qualifier. Hopefully the USSF is smart like when we play Mexico and give the majority of tickets to the club's supports, and the us soccer fan clubs that you can sign up for on the us soccer website.

Bradley Report Card

Positives: Casey wasn't bad, Feilhaber sub (as mentioned), starting Spector (who wouldn't?), a WIN

Negatives: Mastro/Clark was a horrible pairing (did anybody actually think that would produce offense), another early goal (are we not motivated to play the game?), Beasley getting minutes period, and finally...

Wynne, the worst player on the field Wednesday, and Kljestan, the lazy and ineffective sub on Wednesday both make tonight's bench but.... Torres, the best player in the first 45 against CR, and Adu, who did okay Wed. but is typically a threat in some fashion, both don't even make the bench. Irrelevant to the game, I guess... but seriously, what the fuck

i just want bradley out of here after the WC, if we make it(looking pretty good now, since mexico somehow suck taint). i may have to constantly write letters now to the USSF if they decide for some dumbass reason to keep him....im not even giving us any kind of a chance to go far in the world cup, so i def want him outta here

it is beyond me why charlie davies and freddy adu don't start for this team. every time theyre in they show that they are 2 of the best players we have.

also i didnt think torres was that great in the first 45, he made some good passes, but he looked afraid when he was on the ball and was not very effective at getting by defenders. it was pretty much his fault for the first goal too, because he did a horrible job of closing down that dude who scored

^The problem is they will just replace him with an average MLS coach and if they do land a good coach then he will leave for Europe when Manchester United, Barcelona, AC Milan, etc need a new coach.

I'm not the biggest Bradley fan, but I also don't hate on him like some people. He's getting the job done for now so you can't complain. Give us any coach you want and we will still have problems beating Italy, Brazil, Germany, etc. They are just better than us talent wise. We are good enough to advance out of the group phase at the CC, or WC, but it will take some luck.

apparently you dont know guus too well. you should probably read up on his managerial skills:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guus_Hiddink

taking south korea to the semi-finals of the world cup (dont care if it was in s. korea or not) is extraordinary. you cant tell me that they had a lot of talent and thats why they made it that far...they did beat these teams before they lost to germany: portugal, italy, and spain...

i would go nuts if we ever landed guus as a manager for USA

Wasn't it rumored that Jurgen Klinsmann was in talks for the national team coach before he ended up at Bayern? Might not be the biggest coach ever but seems like that would be a big get for the US.

^^I know what he did, but my point is, don't expect us to do great things even with a great coach. Korea Republic does have a player on Manchester United and our best Europeans are at places like Fulham. Luck of the draw also has something to do with advancing.

luck of the draw?? they had to play italy, spain, and germany all in a row...how much unlucky do you get from that? and as for park being on man utd, i dont really care much for him, id rather have a better winger. i cant name any other korean player besides him...

yeah, i didnt even think about it but he wasnt even on united in '02. he was on psv maybe..he didnt join united til the 04/05 season im pretty sure

just looked it up. he wasnt even on psv yet. guus went to psv after the world cup and brought along park from some japanese club...so s. korea were pretty much no names and guus turned them into a 4th place team at the world cup

who the fuck doesn't have a problem beating these teams? our problem is winning a meaningful game away from home against ANYBODY, our problem is playing attractive soccer against teams that we should handily beat, our problem is developing and training our best young players into playing their best for the national team

settle for nothing now and you'll settle for nothing later
