i can call out 3 goals germany have given up cause of him. hes been torn apart the entire tourney. and he couldve been called for a pk for pullin kazim down by the shirt in the box in the 2nd half. hes small and he pushes up too much, thats why the left back was ahead of all the strikers to get that goal

id take a fullback who is better than him and your team only gives up 1 or no goals, than having a fullback who is not always there and has to score a goal in the 87th min or whatever for only his 3rd goal ever internationally even though he always pushes forward to give you the win after being worthless all game

ill give germany all the credit for being in the finals, i didnt expect this to be a close game...but you can put fault on lahm and lehmann for it being close. to be fair to any strikers around the world, shit i couldve prob scored the goal once lahm got the ball back. rustu didnt exactly make himself "big" on that 1v1


god help germany if russia gets through. germany will beat spain, i can see them losing to russia though. hiddink will exploit lahm's side with russias speed on the wings.

hahah ok, I didn't realize that was a sitter -- let's also forget the move he put on the defender and the run that put him in the position, and the composure and quality of the finish

he may have made some mistakes defensively... but don't rip on the quality of the goal to back up your statements that he has sucked all tournament. even if he had 10 own goals this tournament, he just won the game for them

I think Turkey played a hell of a game, and actually much better than the German side. I am surprised no one is mentioning the fact that Germans were pretty lucky throughout the game and Turkey was by far the agressor side. I think it was a miracle that the first half ended with a tie considering Germany had only 1 decent scoring position.
Turkey almost dominated the whole game (despite what the ESPN commentators say). We-yes I am Turkish- outplayed Germany, but no one even dared to mention that. Just check the stats, I think it shows who controlled the match the whole time:

^^although the whole 2nd half wasnt shown on espn, but from what i saw, germany dominated that half, so i think its fair that whoever scored the last goal won that game.

just cause you have possession most of the time doesnt mean you dominated the game...just check the 1st leg of barca vs man utd in the champs league this past year, barca dominated the possession but didnt set up really any kind of shots...turkey did set up stuff in the 1st half, but they ran out of gas in the 2nd half.

I agree that posession does not mean anything. Actually most of the time the teams that hold on to the ball are the same teams that have trouble scoring (since they do loads of lateral passes in their own half which boosts posession stat). I think 17/7shot ratio and 8/2 corner ratio is alittle bit more relevant.
My point was Germany scored 2 goals in the second half and they did not even miss a chance or had a shot on goal (other than the one went wide from 20 yards out).
Maybe we did not dominate in the second half but I think we were the agressor of the two sides. I was just bitching about the fact that people think Germany played real well, while I think they got exposed and were lucky. We just did not capitalize and paid for it.
Well as Lineker once said:
"Soccer is a game for 22 people that run around, play the ball, and one referee who makes a slew of mistakes, and in the end Germany always wins."


Spain/Russia should be feeling really good after this game imo.
