Haha, nice. That's pretty funny. I'll post up the pictures of tonight's game tomorrow, I have to wait 24 hours before I can post them up due to my UPI contract.

So I got in the middle, literally, of a fight between a Canes and Bruins fan during 3rd period. I was up on top in level 1 shooting above the ice, where a lot of other photogs shoot at, and two Bruins fan started to smack talk with an older Canes fan. The yelling got pretty loud and annoying so me and two other photogs tried to calm them down and security got involved; the Canes fan left.

Not two mins later the Canes guy comes back and yells really loud, next to my ear, then went livid and lunged at one of the Bruins fan across one of those temporary tape fences. In the process, I was basically smack in the middle of it so he initially hits me and knocked me off my stool. Both started to throw punches while the Canes guy was literally still on top of me. I had my Camera over my head trying to keep it out of the way from their fists; just yelling for both to back the fuck up. Security finally came in again and stopped the fight.

I was pretty upset and went over to both the Canes fan and security guards and told them in a calm and professional manner that we (as photographers) can't have that kind of drama next to us when we are working with expensive equipment. If I wasn't paying attention to the fight, I would have lost my balance and fell either in front of me, hitting fans, or even worse, on to other photographers, risking equipment damage and loosing valuable time. We are working up there and those sections that's roped off is our place of business. Not only that but because my attention was directed to them fighting, not the game, I could have missed out on some important photos, and sure enough Staal made a goal a min later.

Anyhow, /rant.

Oh, if we still end up having another home game next week and anyone here is going, you should holla at me. I'm up on level one on the Bench side shooting in the middle. Just shout out "JBaz". Skinny Asain kid with glasses.
