sodium is only bad for you if you have high blood pressure or you're sodium-sensitive

for the life of me, i'm drawing a blank on all the stuff i throw into meatloaf
i wanna say i mix the Lipton Beefy Onion soup mix with a little bit of water before adding it to the mix. then there's the worcestershire. that might be the only liquid i put in it. i can't remember 4/22/2010 2:14:43 PM |

I saw some recipe that used crushed pretzels instead of bread crumbs on some chicken son. Looked pretty good son.

well yea i meant liquid-wise
typically my meatloaf is 2lbs of meat (turkey, pork, 80/20 beef, meatloaf mix) 2 eggs breadcrumbs (i do this by sight, maybe 1 cup?) 1 large chopped onion 1 large chopped green pepper lots of fresh chopped garlic (4-5 cloves at least) 1 packet Lipton beefy onion soup mix with 2-3 tbsp of water mixed in worcestershire sauce (again by sight, no clue - maybe 1/4 cup?) pepper (NO SALT) parsley/basil/oregano (just basically italian seasonings)
.....
i think tha's it?
OATS! i'ma do that instead of breadcrumbs this time!
ooh crushed pretzels. also a neat sounding alternative. as long as they're salt-free that could work.] 4/22/2010 2:19:36 PM |

nah yo
in your meatloaf tin, leave room at the top, then just cover with the sauce, and sprinkle the top with the onions
the onions will cook and crisp and the sauce will leave a nice red coating

advice needed:
my bff wants me to go on a cruise at the end of june with a bunch of our friends
but I went on the same cruise in Jan
and I'm doing the same cruise at the end of may
but this will be one wild, fun weekend
what to do?
(PS--I'm moving to a cheaper place, so my roommate/money crunch got solved) 4/22/2010 2:38:15 PM |
thumper All American 21574 Posts user info edit post |
personally, i wouldn't wanna go on the same cruise 3 times in 6mos 4/22/2010 2:51:00 PM |
lucyinthesky All American 11614 Posts user info edit post |
Yeah, I kind of want to go someplace new
But this will be a really fun group of people, so I'm torn
But I suppose I can hang out with them here on the cheap anyway 4/22/2010 2:54:11 PM |
thumper All American 21574 Posts user info edit post |
well, if it's with a group you wanna hang out with, then location shouldn't really matter 4/22/2010 2:59:04 PM |
lucyinthesky All American 11614 Posts user info edit post |
then perhaps the location should be cheaper 4/22/2010 3:05:06 PM |
thumper All American 21574 Posts user info edit post |
oh absolutely
but if the whole group is set on this cruise then you can't really make the whole group do something else
or can you?????
honestly, you don't wanna miss that cruise. if it's a close group of friends you know they'll have a blast, and you'll be hella jealous when they come back talking about how great it was.

What will you do w/your vaca time if Nicaragua falls through?4/22/2010 3:46:14 PM |
thumper All American 21574 Posts user info edit post |
I figure we'll know in a couple weekends if Nicaragua is on or off. If it's off, then I'll distribute them elsewhere. I have no idea what I'll do though Probably a week at Christmas or something.
I wanna go to Nags Head and spend a week doing nothing in a really swanky waterfront hotel!

Haha perhaps swanky wasn't the right word. Houses are too expensive for just me and Buck. So, a hotel with an oceanfront room on the highest floor they've got - that'll make me happy. 4/22/2010 4:06:31 PM |
