I caught the tail end of the game on WCHL 1360 AM on the way from Chapel Hill, where I live, to visit with some family that lives in Raleigh and was happy to hear the wolfpack pulled it out in the end. My reason for visiting was a thanksgiving type meal/gathering. All of my family had their own little thanksgivings in Cary, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, & Charlotte in units of 3 or 4 people on thanksgiving day itself, but everyone got together for a big meal earlier today with 15 or so people. One of the people I was visiting in Raleigh played for UNC back in the day and was very much pulling for the heels. It was an interesting to think that I, coming from my home in Chapel Hill was pulling for the wolfpack, while visiting a family member who lives in Raleigh that was pulling for the heels. Glad we won.

Man am I glad I made the 3 hour trip to this game. It's the 1st one I've been to since the '03 game, where Rivers went off on UNC. It was unfortunate that the tailgaters, who came in their bright orange truck with the UNC flag, didn't hang around. They sure were rocking to Sweet Caroline, and telling a boy scout to get away from them with his "NC State crap." But, I guess the fatass, who was about 350 pounds, had to go home and give his 8 year old brother his shirt back. That looked about 7 sizes too small. But what a game. The next few days are going to be great for us State fans.

I think the place got loud in the 4th. Understandable the atmosphere is down this year. We had beatin 2 D. 1 teams and were expecting to get blown out by our biggest rival.

I was really surprised at how little blue there was there. Good job by the fans showing up. If the records were reversed Kennan would have been 60% red.

there was actually a lot of blue there... from what i noticed. the most visiting fans i've ever seen except for the ECU game during amato's year when we lost to them at home.

and the crowd was really quiet until the 4th quarter, but that's understandable given the circumstances

I was pleasantly surprised by how much red was in the stands, given how bad we've been...unfortunately my seat was in the UNC section, though. Crowd was pretty weak until very late, but that's understandable.

Had a great time. Doesn't make up for our disappointing season, but at least it quiets the UNC fans.

Crowd sucked for most of the game but I can't blame them.


That said, that place was absolutely nuts in the 4th. My hearing didn't feel normal until about 10 last night.


The one thing that pisses me the fuck off is that we sold those lower bowl tickets to fucking heel fans. So what if the crowd sucks, and we didn't fill the place, I'd rather have those seats empty. At least put them in the upper deck and let the students have the field. On the other hand, I thought the upper corners that usually are filled with hole fans had a lot of red in them. I was surprised that so few holes showed up considering how many tickets were available. There were more than I would have liked, but nothing like the red in Kenan last year.
