Doesn't matter who we play. Both teams appear to be damn good and regardless of the opponent, the Pack will need to step up their game, play smart, and be efficient.

i've watched 10+ purdue games this year. Hummell is their team. How he goes, goes purdue. CJW could do a really good job defensively on him. Other than that, keep Byrd in check and they really struggle to score.

That being said, they are used to low scoring games and are hard to score against. However, if you've noticed, they are really small down low and I feel like Howell and Calvin could really do some damage.

i love that unc has lost kendall marshall...or do I? now their folks will always have an excuse and claim that otherwise a championship would have been a sure thing this year.

I'm a State and Purdue fan. Talked to my Purdue fan uncle after the selections and he told me Purdue and N.C. State could play in the Sweet 16 in St. Louis and we should go. I told him "I don't think we have to worry about that happening." One game away. Although it'd kinda suck to have them meet in the Sweet 16, on the bright side if it occurs I'm guaranteed one team I cheer for in the Elite 8.

Purdue's weak inside. Painter started Marcuis tonight who doesn't play much to counteract Kansas' height. They normally start Matt Carroll at center and Carroll is in my opinion near worthless. Our guard and forward play though is excellent. Family in Indiana had previously told me Scott Wood considering an offseason or two ago of transferring to Purdue. I remember when I heard it telling them "why? he wouldn't even start for Purdue". When they began the year Hummel was coming off two ACL injuries in a row, the team had to adjust to losing JaJuan Johnson and E'Twaun Moore to the Boston Celtics and they kind of have and kind of have not. Jackson has really stepped up playing for the team as point guard. Hummel was rusty from lack of playing the past year and a half but as the season went on he's gotten better especially as he refound his shooting form. D.J. Byrd has become more than just a "post up and shoot" guy (and is from the same place my parents are from). The only downside again is inside we really miss Johnson as Carroll and Marcuis can't come close to replicating his efforts.
