Why didn't Roy head to the locker room early to avoid the court storming?

Wow, court storm, really?

Gotta hand it to UNC. They played really good defense, and Paige did just enough on offense. That guy is really, really good. Duke missed some easy shots in the 2nd half.

It wasn't really about VT ... it was about Dockery hitting a half-court shot at the buzzer to win. Crazy ass ending. Still weird to rush the court.

Yeah, we were so "good" that I think it was like 3 weeks in a row that fans rushed the court after beating us.

lol at the ft differential in that game. and Parker's fourth foul will forever infuriate me. Duke's offense played like shit in the second half.

what really annoys me about this loss is I just don't think this UNC team is good.

UNC got Kendall Marshall...we got Ryan Harrow.

UNC got Marcus Paige...we got Tyler Lewis.

Each year, the two guys we got were pretty closely ranked. Their two guys are starting for the Lakers and leading their teams to win over the top 4 teams in the nation. Our two guys are playing for Georgia State and going back and forth from starting and bench mode. Even when we seemingly recruit as well as they do...it doesn't work out.

Actually he is saying that we have recruited similarly ranked players and their improvement and development have been poor in comparison.

^^^^ Duke scores 40% of their points from three on the year. There is no world that they should EVER shoot a similar amount of FTs to a team that plays like UNC. Parker's fourth foul was bs but so was JMMs. Also, Parker was awful last night despite his double double.

That 7-8 minute stretch for Duke where they couldn't hit anything was the worst effort I've seen from Duke for as long as I can remember. They got a TON of wide-open looks and just couldn't hit anything. I can appreciate UNC's hustle but their D wasn't overly impressive to me. They definitely hustled their ass off and out-worked Duke on the offensive boards, but if Duke would have hit even 30% of their wide open shots in that 8 minute stretch they'd have probably won that game.

harrow was a 3* when we recruited and I dont wtf happened with Lewis' ranking. I'm pretty sure if he was from Iowa he wouldnt have been as highly thought of. A lot of the so called recruiting experts being from NC can cause some local kids to get overhyped

Not really fair comparisons. Harrow was only here a year and was painfully skinny. He wasn't going to "develop" anywhere. I think his time at UK and wherever he is now proves that.

Lewis is a good player who will never be great because his size and athletic limitations. He can be a solid PG, but he'll never be elite, no matter how much he develops.

UNC has definitely done a good job with PGs, but it's not like everyone at UNC "develops" into a good player. Just look at Larry Drew and Dexter Strickland -- highly ranked guards who didn't really do squat at UNC.

Then there's McAdoo. He was regarded as elite when he got to UNC -- a top-5 pick -- and now he'll be lucky to be picked in the first round. He's basically the same player he was when he got to UNC. He might have actually regressed ... even though he's playing a little better lately. Kind of.

maybe you missed the first half where Duke was taking it to the rack on most plays. really it was more on the first 5 minutes of the second where Duke was called for 6-7 super cheap fouls that put UNC in the bonus at the 14 minute mark. whatever though. even with shitty refs and not scoring for 8 minutes, Duke still could have won. no idea why Sulaimon played 35 minutes while Dawkin rode the bench the entire second half. complete choke.

That was kind of the point. He wasn't terrible his soph year at UNC, but he wasn't good either. Every fan I knew hated him. But by his final year at UCLA, he was a really good player.

If he were from Iowa he probably would have had better stats actually.

I think he was highly thought of because of this...

Named the 2012 Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year ... captured the Powerade Jam Fest skills competition title ... played his senior season at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va. ... led the Warriors to a 44-0 record ... averaged 12.0 points, 7.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds ... averaged 15.0 points and 4.8 assists to help Oak Hill win the Les Schwab Invitational crown ... named the Schwab Invitational MVP ...was the 2011 runner-up for the North Carolina Associated Press Player of the Year ... two-time North Carolina AP All-State Men's Prep Basketball Team selection, a two-time NCISAA all-state member, a two-time PACIS Conference Player of the Year and a two-time MaxPreps.com All-American ... averaged 27.2 points, 7.4 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals in his final season at Forsyth ... posted a 40-point performance at the Tournament of Champions while playing for Team Loaded ... averaged 27.2 points over four games in the Tournament of Champions ..
