I have to keep telling myself that this is a young team that did better than I thought they would. But damn, last night was a tough loss.

Feels bad, man.

Well, maybe this is the type of loss to resonate in the minds of our returning players. Something to remind them in the future that every point and play counts. Not to lay off the throttle even if you're up 12 pts.

So glad Louisville won. Not sure I could've handled life if we blew a chance to play Manhattan for Sweet 16.

First time I can think of a team Overachieving and Underachieving at the same time .

Still hurts this morning man

I would equate being a State fan to being a dumb woman in an abusive marriage. The man(NC State sports) continues to beat you, yet you keep coming back because he pledges to do better.

I'm surprised Jibbles hasn't shown up yet. He's probably waiting to see if Tennessee wins today.

Ugh this was tough.

The only possible silver lining I can see out of all this is that it may have an impact on TJ's decision to stay.

Yeah yeah money NBA blah blah fuck you. Not every kid in college is a money grubbing whore. He'll get to the NBA, there is no question about that. But does he really want to go out on the note left last night? Is that how he wants to be remembered? You can't convince me 100% that he's leaving.

I had multiple nightmares about this game last night. It's all I could think about this morning. Like many I try to think we are young, did better than expected, would likely lose to Louisville etc but my god that one hurt. Used to think the Frieje game would be the worst loss Id ever experience but this easily surpassed that one. One of the biggest tourney collapses I can remember. Just took nc state shit to a whole new level. I won't remember TJ for that game as everyone fucked that one up but man sucks for him to go out like that. I'd much rather have lost to Louisville by 40 than lose to a team that we dominated and used such a pussy tactic to get back into a game they really had no business winning. UGH!!!!

People don't remember that we used the exact same tactic to get to/win the damn national championship in 1983.

don't read any articles today. All the haters will be out in full force. Best to just keep to yourself and stay away from any articles until the day/weekend is over or else you're just gonna get yourselves riled up. I'm not reading shit until this has passed over.

Doesn't matter we beat them. Remember when they went 5-7 and we went 7-5. They were still better.

That is true, but that was one of the main reasons they instituted the 2 shots at 10 fouls rule. To try to penalize teams more for using that strategy. I keep hearing talk about giving guys 6 fouls now before fouling out, which will just result in this sort of strategy happening more unfortunately.

This one really hurt. Really bad.

TJ probably had one of his worst games (while still scoring 28 and almost getting a double-double), and Tyler Lewis had 7 turnovers (he hadn't more than 2 in a game all season)

I told myself I wouldn't even get on TWW for a few days, but here I am. But I'm now leaving.

I know everybody's gotta be a fan in their own way. But, man, some of y'all be making me angry with your tones. I shouldn't be reading this shit.

St. Louis sucked; they were horrible. It felt like all they did was get extra physical about everything and drain some threes. The fouling at the end or whatever, I don't care, but to have that done to you so successfully by such a seemingly shitty squad...oh man, it hurts. I also thought St. Louis was playing pretty dirty--and I was hollerin' about it even when we were up somewhat comfortably. I figured I was being crazy until Jordair Jett just laid on top of Warren for a while, moved to get up, and then laid back down on him, like it was a football game. Our guys weren't just fatigued and psyched out, they were banged around pretty good by some big dudes who did not deserve to win that game.

I want to enjoy this tournament so I'm going to spend the next few minutes mastering self-control and think no more about this heartbreak.

Whatever. The only way their vaunted A10 defense could win against the ACC is to not play defense for the last 10 minutes. Fuck that scrub team, coach, and conference. I'm over it.

I was wondering, i wonder how many cars are wrecked, houses are destroyed, dogs are kicked, wives are beaten after games like last night? i think i'm a pretty level headed guy and don't get too emotional over most things, but i was really having to hold back from putting my fist through my wall or hurling the remote through my flat screen or aquarium.

The wifey and I got in a little spat last night. She was dumb enough to make a "chill out" comment towards the end of regulation when I was getting really stressed out. I replied that it would be in her best interests to remain quiet until the game was over (in a pretty calm manner, IMO). She didn't take that well. We went to bed angry. But I think its blown over now.

My reaction to NC State Shit over the years has slowly decreased to a pretty acceptable level. But last night's game was too much to control. That was a rough one.

^^ My fiance and I had a similar issue lol. She told me I was giving her anxiety and to stop...I wasn't about to be told to calm down during that game.

And like you, I have calmed down over the years - but last night was like none other.

She actually apologized to me after the game was over after I had been sitting on my back balcony for about 30 minutes "cooling off and thinking". But today is a new day and I still got love for the Pack. We will be back.

a new girl i met decided to show up during the first half with a 6 pack (nc state shit). i talked to her but i remember her saying she never liked basketball and at one point i said "sorry, this is a really intense time (after ignoring her). She left when they cut the lead to 10 and i started going crazy

that makes the game even more nc state shit for me.

i came in to make a few changes, send out a project (about 2 hours total of work) and literally going home to start crying again.

the only solace i can find in this is i won't have to kid myself in thinking we would actually match up against louisville.

I, too, basically told my fiance the only reason I looked remotely calm last night was because she was in the room and the kid was sleeping upstairs. I was so ready to smash anything or throw my phone through the TV. If I had been by myself and the very least cussing at the top of my lungs and hurling pillows would have ensued. Glad I am not the only one haha.

I was very calm after the loss last night which surprised me. The Syracuse and UNC losses bother me more and i guess it was because I thought we really needed those wins to make it to the dance. When i was filling out my bracket i was expecting us to lose to Louisville, and even though i expected us to beat St. Louis, it wouldn't matter because we wouldn't made it to the sweet 16 anyway so whats the point if you cant win it big.

That loss sucked and it hurt me to the core. I felt especially bad for TJ. Kid put his heart and soul into this season and I hate to see him go out like that.

I work in engineering with 70% of us being NCSU grads, needless to say it's been a quiet day in the office.

My loud outbursts are normally when we do something good. When we fuck up...I sit down, sigh, look at the ground, and run my hands through my hair...and mutter phrases in a low voice like, "I can't fucking believe this"..."you gotta be fucking kidding me"..."jesus fucking christ."

I feel like that's a lot better than yelling and screaming. My wife dislikes both equally.

i take my anger out on a syracuse basketball that i kick around the room. its a lot less destructive than when i put a hole in my wall (behind my bracket poster) after the temple loss last year.

This game is the pinnacle for the future of NCSU basketball. It could on one hand motivate TJ to come back as he had some slight things to improve on and he could refine his game and win ACC POY again. Or, it could drive him away as he may say "I'm not putting up with this shit another year." Very interesting, i cant wait to hear if he goes pro or not. Its 50/50 at this point.
