Kante back for Leicester is going to be a huge boost I think. This is an interesting one. Newcastle will come to play, especially with a new manager to impress, but Leicester is at home and with Kante have ticked really well. Pressure on Leicester too with them playing the last match of the weekend. Let's see how this one goes but a win here is absolutely crucial for Leicester if they want the title. Their next two matches are Palace away and Southampton home. Both teams in decent form. Still have to play West Ham, Everton, Man United, and Chelsea as well. The next three matches are going to be huge for Tottenham and Leicester.

Happy to see Rose get his first call up. He could really help England this summer in his current form.

Predictions for the rest of the season? It's interesting to me how many teams play Chelsea near the end of the season. Also, West Ham is going to play a huge role in the top 4. Liverpool's schedule is the easiest of all the teams but I'm sure with Europa and them being Liverpool, they won't even sniff a CL spot. United's is the hardest and I can't see them playing their way into a CL spot in their current form.

I think Leicester holds on and the CL stay the same as they do now, just maybe not in the same order. I think maybe LFC can nip WH for the Europa spot but I hope they don't.

Table: Games left / Points

Leicester - 8 / 63
Spurs - 8 / 58
Arsenal - 9 / 52
City - 9 / 51
West Ham - 9 / 49
United - 9 / 47
LFC - 10 / 44

Leicester - @Palace, Southampton, @Sunderland, West Ham, Swansea, @United, Everton, @Chelsea
Spurs - Bournemouth, @LFC, United, @Stoke, WBA, @Chelsea, Southampton, @Newcastle
Arsenal - @Everton, Watford, @West Ham, Palace, WBA, @Sunderland, Norwich, @City, Villa
City - United, @Bournemouth, WBA, @Chelsea, @Newcastle, Stoke, Southampton, Arsenal, @Swansea
West Ham - @Chelsea, Palace, Arsenal, @Leicester, Watford, @WBA, Swansea, United, @Stoke
United - @City, Everton, @Spurs, Villa, Palace, Leicester, @Norwich, @West Ham, Bournemouth
LFC - @Southampton, Spurs, Stoke, @Bournemouth, Everton, Newcastle, @Swansea, Watford, Chelsea, @WBA

Doesn't the winner of the FA cup get a europa spot? In that case West Ham, United, and Everton still have a chance to qualify for the Europa. I believe if City finish 4th and West Ham or United win the FA cup then 6th and 7th should get Europa. If City finish 4th and Everton or Palace win the FA cup then 5th and 6th will get the Europa.

For predictions:
Leicester to win the title and the top 3 to stay the same. I think 4th place is still open but I agree on current form I don't see United getting it. I really do think West Ham can make a push for it but they have a tough schedule ahead as well. That said if United do manage to beat city this weekend then it will be a wide open race for that 4th spot.

Wall of text incoming, but I think most people in this thread are serious fans of the game and will get some insight into what goes into running a club from a player management standpoint.

John McDermott, who's the head of player development and coaching at all the levels below the 1st team for Spurs gave a talk tonight at a college in SoCal. Someone in attendance wrote this post as notes while he was speaking on reddit. Hopefully some of yall will enjoy it as much as I did.

I love this point from the notes:

Quote :
"What does he look for in his players- extreme talent alone you will fail… personal values/characteristics and doing the brilliant basics right= good chance of making it, having those two with extreme talent= might become a top player"

This is what made Sir Alex so successful in the transfer market at United. It wasn't just purely about talent but also attitude and personal values. This is also why he was able to pick up gems like Evra, Chicha, Vidic, and countless others for next to nothing and make them into incredible players.

Good post, for once from ribs, and decent outlook on the relationship between the academy and first team manager. Wish I could have heard the talk personally.

That number 20 for Tottenham is a bit shit. Could have used an experienced player today to get all 3 points and put pressure on Leicester.

Hopefully Leicester virtually seals the deal this weekend after a Martial hattrick and a Delle Alli red card.

Realistically 2-1 Spurs but I am hoping the title pressure gets to them big time this weekend, especially since Leicester play first.

Payet is so good. It's terrifying watching him pick the ball up and dribble at your defense.

He could get into 98% of the sides in the world right now and he's at fucking West Ham.

What a damning indictment this season is for Wenger. He has had all the excuses in the past but there are none this year, especially in a season where Leicester are leading the charge for the title. It's not good enough and Wenger has to go. He has stuck around long enough to see himself become a villain.

Tottenham stuck with it and got their rewards. I think Fosu Mensah getting hurt killed us. That says a lot when a 18 year old defender in his second EPL start is your best player. Spurs might take it to the last day now since Leicester have a few difficult fixtures coming up.
