^I'd say yes... I think it is a small% of the phones that are just plain out lemons...

i can count at least 8 people off the top of my head with a 4 and 4s and all of them have never had battery problems...even after the 5.0.1 update

I did experience a noticeable drop in battery performance when I upgraded my 4 to 5.0. But it's nothing that I can't live with. Probably get like 80-90% of what I got before the upgrade. My dad just upgraded to 5.0.1 (from 4.x) yesterday and the first thing he said to me today was "Man, this thing really sucks down the battery now doesn't it?" And he doesn't pay attention to any of the stories online, so it's not like it's all in his head.

I only noticed a difference in battery usage when doing a decent bit of 3g data. If I do it all on wifi or no data use then it's the same battery life I had prior to upgrading to iOS5.

That's disappointing. My desire has now faded for a 4S or any following Apple product that has Siri installed.

in regards to battery life - i too noticed that my battery life was horrendous for a couple of days but it has completely resolved once i turned iCloud backups off. I still have everything synced to iCloud but I have my BACKUPS done with iTunes on the computer (i.e. only when i'm on my home wifi and thus usually plugged in). dramatically improved battery life similar to before.

mine came via fedex and they require indirect signature. that means you can either sign for it in person or leave a note on the door with your name, tracking number, and signature and they will leave it.

i did the note and they left it on the porch. it is up to you, though. you may not want it left on the porch.

After updating my software a few weeks ago to the latest OS I can no long add or delete contacts from my phone. In fact I can't even edit existing contacts. The "plus" button to add contacts is gone as is the "edit" button. They're just not there.

Any advice?

(I own a 16 gig 3Gs)

Are your contacts syncing with an Exchange server? Could be a server-side restriction.

^ Yeah, I'm also using a 16gig 3GS and have 5.01 and the + is sitting right there in Contacts. Everything seems fine.

^^^I am not. It started with 5.0 and the 5.01 upgrade did nothing to change that. I was on the phone with AT&T a few weeks ago and all those asshats recommended was a system restore

I have had no problem with my 4s until tonight. It was at 100% on the night of 12/6. That was 2 nights ago. I had not charged it since. Tonight, I was playing a game and it was at 33%.

Suddenly the screen went black and the spinning circle came up and I knew the phone was shutting down. I tried to restart the phone but it gave me the red dead battery symbol.


When I plugged it in and turned it on, it showed the green battery 1/3 full and 33%.


Why is the battery showing that it is 1/3 full (still in green) and 33%, but the phone dies?


Anyway to fix this?
