It comes with the standard composite cables unfortunately. According to the link above, the Crossroads Target will have 60 consoles so hopefully it won't be a problem to pick one up. 11/15/2006 7:58:50 AM |

Quote : | "Like the 360 and the PS3, Nintendo's Wii is also backward compatible, but unlike those systems, the Wii will play games dating back to the mid-1980s. How? The Wii's drive is compatible with GameCube discs, while NES, SNES, and Nintendo 64 games--even select titles from the TurboGrafx 16 and Sega Genesis--are to be available through Nintendo's Virtual Console download service for beteen $5 - $10 each. In fact, Wii is designed to be always connected to the Internet, either through built-in wi-fi or LAN adapter, and will automatically download surprises and game updates even when the console is off. Also, the Wii will come with a game compilation called Wii Sports, including tennis, golf, baseball and bowling games, that will show off the console's intuitive new controler" |

i just looked at the list of release dates on ign's website, and the immediate future doesn't look so good. zelda appears to be the only must-have game for some time. the verdict's still out on red steel and rayman. for 2007, release dates have not been established for metroid 3 and smash bros. unless you expect to get a lot of use out of the virtual console feature, you better hope zelda takes about 3-4 months to beat.
or maybe red steel will turn out to be awesome. 11/15/2006 10:45:29 PM |

well, Nintendo's announced that there will be an updated Wii next year w/ DVD playback. I wonder how many more features it'll have over the launch day model 11/16/2006 11:06:37 AM |

and i thought the dvd playback was merely a software update. you'd download it next year on the wii you bought this year and viola, movie. for free too

^i've heard two different scenarios - that it would be a software download, or that it would take more than that and they'd be pushing out a new model that would support it (leaving those of us who got launch models SOL).

Probably because its nothing more than an overclocked gamecube with wifi. The "omghaxsweet" controller was intended for the gamecube. I fail to see any revolution here.11/16/2006 4:03:40 PM |

I am very torn on whether or not to try to pick up Excite Truck. I had fun playing it in Babbages, but reviews state that it lacks content (multiplayer hurts bad ) and it has a low difficulty (ie its always a close race no matter how poorly you do).
On the other hand, I plan to play Zelda TP mostly so this would be an easy sort of fun break.
On the other hand, this game is a perfect candidate for the trade in bins and will be relatively cheap pretty soon (assuming you are in the right place at the right time to snag a trade in). 11/16/2006 5:37:05 PM |
