rough week. its hilarious to hear all these people panicking though i mean damn people with accounts up 10-12% YTD in JUNE and they go nuts when it goes down a couple points one week.

Speak for yourself. I'm always hoping for at least 2,000% returns.

BIDU tracks GOOG the same way SLV tracks GLD

both the up and down sides are more pronounced

Why are you thinking about selling?

6/28/2007 11:41:56 AM

BobbyDigital

couple of reasons

1 - diversification... with ESPP and ESOP, i have way more exposure to CSCO than I need.
2 - Profit taking/wanna pay off my vehicle. Already realized a 60% gain, so it's a good time.

Plus, historically, right after i sell any ESPP, the stock shoots up. I sold some ESPP last year around this time, and a week later the stock began its move from $18 to $28.

So, trying to make history repeat itself.

I think i might wait it out and see what tomorrow brings. I'll probably just put in a stop so that if today's gains start slipping I'll still get a good chunk of it.

Is there a free list pf penny stocks. Anything under $5 a share. I found a bunch of places that will give your everything but for quite a fee. If someone could PM it to me I would greatly appreciate it.

One more question, sorry, If you own stock in a company and it is bought out what happens?

i'm not giving any advice on penny stocks.

if the company gets bought out, you either get cash or stock in the acquiring company -- depends on the deal.

i wanted to punch myself in the face for not buying RIMM at 130 -- i was addicted to my crackberry since i got it back in 2005. i should know better.

seeing BIDU continue to tear it up made me feel better though.

Amusing intro to an Apple article

Quote :
"As everyone on the planet knows by now, Apple (AAPL, news, msgs) will release a drug on Friday that cures cancer, fixes broken bones and freshens your breath. No, sorry, I mean the company will release a definitive solution to world peace. No, that's not right either. It has solved the mystery of death, and on Friday it will simultaneously resurrect Albert Einstein, Jimi Hendrix and Princess Diana."

anyone been following LLNW (they're a competitor to Akamai, recent IPO)?

dropped from a high of ~20 2 weeks ago to 15 this week, and bounced back 16% in the last hour or so.

It also might be a good time to get into SHLD

Not sure if anyone read about it Newsweek, but this spring they securitized Craftsman, Kenmore, and DieHard into their own company that licenses the names. Basically all the cash stays in the 2 companies, but at any point they could sell $1.6 billion in corporate bonds.

The stock has already increased 50% since Eddie Lampert took over a year ago. He's the guy who made Warren Buffett a shitload of his money in the 90s.

been watching TIE, i think they're incredibly oversold. 20 P/E and 30% growth... If i end up getting out of any of my current positions, TIE is probably what I'll get into.

Other stocks that I'm watching closely:

LLNW (more for entertainment than anything else, they keep swinging up and down wildly)
AMX - on of my Motley Fools CAPS picks back in march, they're up 35% since then, and still have room to grow.
ATW - It was a coin flip to buy this or MDR to get some oil sector exposure, but they're both doing ok.

i don't buy bonds, and rarely buy options (if i do, its usually just calls). i don't ever short, and don't do puts.

i'm probably up about 15% this year. i was up over 25% before June. i had a lot of travel and work related stress in May and June, and got rattled enough to make a bunch of lousy decisions.

Just checked my account and my Discover is now in there.
I haven't done any research or read up on it at all but it would appear that I got 1 share of DFS for every 2 shares of MS.
