no i didn't do ROTC in undergrad! but am considering it because of the JAG corps. interested in Navy then Army. i guess i'm equally interested in both but maybe slightly more navy. but military has good benefits and i would like to serve my country (just like something i WANT to do...i don't know if i can, but i WANT to). i probably wouldn't make it my career, i'd just do my 4 years or whatever (unless something changed when i got in and i wanted to do more).

I liked Raleigh better -- seems like I got here about the right time, though, as they're sprucing up downtown a bit. I live downtown, so I walk to work and almost everywhere else. YMCA's across the street. Bars within walking distance = have fun with no DUI worries Plus it's a beautiful city, with all the trees and big old houses and churches and whatnot.

I, too, have seriously considered joining up, but I'm 25 and a homeowner now so it's getting less and less likely. Which is why I asked you about it.

yea. i live a little outside of downtown (like a mile down elm street...n elm not s elm :crack but yea the downtown is very "cute." it is pretty but it is a little small for me. i like raleigh better too which is why i usually go there on weekends.

but i'm just ready to get out of NC for awhile and do something new.

^^ well good i'm glad you donate a lot. i'm just saying if people felt compelled to donate to a good cause that helps children around the world be vaccinated against completely preventable disease, have clean water, have food, etc then even $5 does a lot. they also do a lot with hiv/aids education. aids is not just a growing concern, it is a pandemic, in africa the infection rates are incredible. and unlike here, where people may get treatment, etc, etc, aids in africa not only kills people at alarming rates, but as a result it ruins communities (socially and economically). UNICEF also does a lot with children that are orphaned by aids. i just think it is a good cause, the US fund is an older charity (it might be the oldest of the world funds that supports UNICEF), so it is established, it is well supported.

oh and donations are tax-deductible. who doesn't love that! i'm not asking anyone to donate i'm just saying i'm raising money if anyone WANTS to contribute, they can. because the trick or treat for UNICEF is a well known fundraiser and it is halloween. and none of the groups at my school seemed interested in sponsoring it. but i already met my goal so it is cool and if anyone does want to donate they don't have to donate through me or my fundraiser. do it by yourself, i don't care. or don't and just read about what UNICEF does and support their mission (if you feel that it is a good one).

well i didn't want to spend a lot of money. i am not that excited. and i still don't 100% know what my plans are so yesterday i went to party city and got child's lady bug wings and antennae for $7. so i'm wearing black leggings, a black shirt, and lady bug wings + antennae. so i guess i'm a lame ladybug.

but i didn't feel like being anything sexy (that is hard for me to pull off anyways) and i ran out of time to make my flamingo costume. but one of these years i am BEING a flamingo. maybe next year.

that is a good costume!!! i wanted to be an american gladiator or a flamingo. but those were too hard. and here's my thing about props...i end up ditching them when i get drunk haha. a bball is a good prop and hopefully you wouldn't get tired of carrying it around. and it is probably more expensive than the props i've gotten sick of carrying (like wands and stuff). i will be the lame ladybug (prob on hillsb as well). also i will have a unicef box...and probably a plastic bag to hold it so i don't set it down anywhere or drop change all over the ground.

do you think i can pressure drunk people into giving me pennies and nickels? is it unethical to fundraise while drinking? whatevs. hopefully i can get like $10 in change tonight.

^^Well, first of all the term Arab denotes an ethnic group. If you are talking about Islamic women that wear scarves I don't think they will go to hell if they accidentally fall off (but who knows).
