I use the Hauppauge HD-PVR...I record it as normal with my DVR, then later "play it out" while capping with the PVR (it captures via component and optical audio). Unfortunately it caps in h264 TS files, which you cant get a clean edit from, so I end up using TMPEGenc to convert to MPEG2. I know, its a no-no to convert video twice, but I prefer clean edits, and I convert to a large bitrate MPEG2, so hopefully this is keeping any quality loss to a minimum. Ive noticed little difference between the final product and original DVR recording (its hard to find any considering ESPN HD isnt exactly stellar in the first place).

Yeah, sorry about my shitty internet connection. Ive only got 40kB/s and I limit torrents to 30kB/s so I can actually use the internet. Ive got a ton of other stuff Id like to share as well, but dont have the upload speed to handle all of it.
