That's good news? I'd actually be a little disappointed by that result unless most of the losses come out-of-conference. We need to be contenders for the championship this year and a 5-3 conference record (losses to FSU, Clemson and Maryland) isn't good enough for that.

That's true, but I'd rather take an upsetting loss to Cincinnati, Central Michigan or South Alabama (hey, they are UNDEFEATED!) than lose too many conference games and be out of the running for the championship.

I hope we destroy Liberty though. I'll be at that game with a Liberty alum who thinks their school is hot shit in football. Looking forward to bringing them their FBS reality check!

one of my real close friends, former UNC walk-on now alumni, emailed me earlier this week making fun of state's new football jerseys and asked why debbie yow was trying to "ruin" our national reputation by moving away from "NC state". not to mention that 9 regular-season wins would be an obvious mark of forward progress from last season...

but considering we're replacing a record-setting QB, multi-year starters at WR, and our entire kicking unit, 9 wins would be fantastic

Throw in a bowl victory and that's 10 wins. Still disappointed?

I didn't mean to convey that i would be disappointed with a 9 win season. I'd be pretty happy given all the changes. I was just saying I'd be pretty pissed if our 3 wins were all from our out of conference schedule. I do think there's a chance we could get 10+ wins though, considering our ridiculously easy schedule.

If we got a decent bowl out of a 9-3 season that would be fine. Decent bowl meaning against a decent team. Champs vs. WV was pretty good. It'd be nice to have at least that level of a quality bowl again.

I took state at 25:1 odds to win the ACC. Thoughts? I figure with VT, FSU, Clem, and UNC all getting new QBs that the loss of RW is mitigated, and Glennon has enough upside to make 25:1 great value.

We also have a favorable conference schedule getting Clem, Fairyland, and the pastel wearing fags in blue at home. The only real red flag longshot on the schedule is at FSU, maybe their QB will fix the game again in a gambling scandal.

I've been calling VT and NCSU in the championship game for quite some time. I don't think FSU will be able to make a 10-2 or 11-1 season like others are saying.
