The most surprising thing about that 2nd half was that Rooney was the ONLY guy out there showing any kind of emotion, playing hard, and acting like it meant something to him after they got down 3-1.

All those other guys were just hanging their heads like the match was over. Where is their competitive spirit? It is inexcusable to go belly up against your rival like that.

also, Fletcher instead of Cleverly? there's no question that Cleverly was the driving force behind the dominant version of United that we saw in the first few games of the season. i realize he's just back from injury (both of them), but it was some poor selection by SAF and even poorer play from those players who were out there.


Save Rooney, i don't think i saw any effort or any desire from any of the players on the pitch, and that is fucking shameful.

Anderson's decent, but he's not capable of dictating anything in the middle.

Every time we play a good team with quick, creative midfielders we get exposed. Hopefully this hammering has shown Fergie that we need someone like Sneijder in the next window.

Gotta agree with kiljadn on this one, Fergie just got it wrong. Vidic, Cleverly, Park, Carrick, Jones... United has the players, Fergie just didn't use them. Anderson/Fletcher is a terrible CM pairing. A 4-4-2 with that pairing and with City's attacking options was asking for trouble. Put Park/Carrick/Fletcher in that midfield and you can break up a lot of that shit and get em on the counter with Young/Nani/Rooney.

I know it was at Old Trafford so that makes a difference but I think he just didn't respect City enough, to be honest.

Fergie got it wrong, but our weak link is still that we have nobody to control the game from midfield. Sneijder plays AM with Inter but he can play the deep lying role that he'd play at ManU. He was just an example though.

I like Cleverley, but I don't think he's there yet.
