We keep looking at the KM charge as the big missed call of the game but what about the phantom foul call on Scott Wood that gave Barnes two shots to tie it? SW never touched Barnes. He missed the shot and we got the rebound. It would have been State ball, up 1 with about a minute to go.

that's what is so dumb. Why the hell do they call the game differently in the last minute? Last time I checked, a basketball game is 40 minutes long, not 39. The 40th minute should be played under the same rulebook as the previous 39 minutes, right? If not, then what's the rules? What game is being played in the 40th minute of a basketball game if the rules of basketball don't fucking apply then?

The rules certainly change in the last 2 minutes of a football game, but they're specified in the actual rule book. You know they change, and, more importantly, you know what they are. If you can't get a charge in the last minute of a basketball game, on account of not "wanting the officials to decide the game," even though by not enforcing the rules the officials are deciding the game, then that's fine, just say so. Make a rule that says there can be no charges, and let everyone know that you can just bowl over people in the last minute. That'd be a fun rule. Put it in the rulebook, though, so that the refs have to enforce that rule on EVERYONE, not just on the conference's two favourite teams.

If Leslie's 4th foul was a charge than the one on Marshall at the end was definitely a charge. Also, has anyone see any video on Leslie's 5th foul? I replayed it on DVR and he was falling away from Barnes, I never saw where he made contact with him. No wonder Leslie was pissed when he fouled out.

Additionally, seemed like most of the halftimes today on espn, had Fran Frascilla(sp?) basically calling bullshit on the non-call as well. I fear that my jimmies will never unrustle.

Sounds like I made a mistake in watching the game on Raycom instead of ESPN. Raycom would not show any replays or call out the refs on any of the bad calls. From what others are posting it sounds like ESPN at least discussed it.

I watched this game at an airport in Jackson, Wyoming aka the middle of bumfuck nowhere (3 gates). Digger has given us some hypothetical tourney love but overall he's an ornery shitdick. Kendall Marshall made a good basketball play and so did Alex Johnson. If the gospel according to Karl Hess is to ref the last minute differently, then Johnson is better served by trying to slap the shit out of the ball (classic lazy defense) than moving his feet and staying with his man. The Carolina clown's right foot was in the fucking air on the Leslie charge; unbelievable.
