mine has always been horrible. maybe because I have the camera covered and it can't see when I entered the room. but as of the last few days it's actually worked like 50% of the time which is relatively huge

Have you tried recalibrating? When I set mine up initially, I made sure it was completely silent in the room and the tv volume was up a little extra. Mine works without any problem 95% of the time.

At my old place, it always worked. New place, only if you're shouting and only works for my voice, not my wife's. I think it's acoustics. Old place was a condo with that wasn't very open and was carpeted. New place is a house where the whole downstairs is open and has wood floors.

the lull of the summer is definitely over. there are too many games i want to play! destiny, fifa, nba 2k, cod, halo, sunset overdrive, forza horizon, etc...

As for the graphics...well, most games are still being produced on a cross generation basis, so I'd assume that developers haven't really started to push the envelope as far as what the XBone can handle. Hopefully over the next year or so we'll see fewer and fewer cross generation games and more focus on the new generations.

When I use my Xbone (hardwired), it seems to kill the wireless for a few other electronics (wife's laptop loses connection & so does a smart tv, other laptops and other smart tv seem fine).

I tried moving the router to a central location, now everything can connect just fine, but the lag on the Xbox during online play is unbearable. I just don't get how wireless vs hardwired can be such an extreme difference. The metrics seem okay for the Xbox (15down, 1up, 100ms ping, and 0%-1% packet loss). Note that the ping is apparently going to Microsoft's servers in Seattle (or so the interwebs tell me).

i know this is not exclusive to the x1 (and i think pc has been doing this for a while) but cod was the first game i preloaded and it is freaking awesome to get home and start the game without having to go to the store and then wait for it to download.

I wish they could come up with a way to trade in digital games, basically giving back your digital license. Then the developers or microsoft could actually control the used game market. i imagine gamestop has some lobbying involved in that, but i am sure companies could figure out a way to partner with stores like that to make used digital sales work. They also need to lower the price of digital games.

this was xbox one's plan before it came out last year and people got super butthurt because they wouldn't have their discs.

Looking like Assassin's Creed Unity is mediocre.

Game looked so good in previews, but as soon as I heard about that there was a review embargo until 12 pm on the day the game releases I knew it would probably disappoint.

Gonna skip this for now, may pick it up if I see it on sale somewhere. If I can get a $30 black friday sale or other holiday deal I will consider it, otherwise I'll be too busy with games that are actually good the rest of this year.

I'm pretty much always open NAT unless something really weird is going on. You technically shouldn't have to do anything with port forwarding if uPnP is turned on, but I know that's been hit or miss for some. That'll boil down to the hardware and firm/software that you're using for your router/modem.
