Good lord, one of the guys in my league has Miami DST, Gronk, and Jamaal Charles all going today. Pretty good chance he sets the league record for single week scoring this week.

what was the differential between Mettenberger and Stafford? bet it wasn't much

I mean, he has been a borderline WR3/Flex all year. It's not totally unreasonable to consider dropping him in favor of other players. One long TD doesn't make him suddenly relevant again.

He's the #61 scoring WR in a ppr league. Coming into the day 23 catches, 283 yards, 1 TD. He was certainly droppable.

maybe in an 8-team or smaller league

not saying he should be in your lineup each week, but dropping a guy in october who still has some of the best Red Zone hands in the league seems like overthinking things

Minus that 1 TD, it was the same statline as Jericho Cotchery.

At a certain point you've got to pull the trigger on guys as they age, especially once it's clear that they're no longer the #1 option on their own team.

I didn't read the Yahoo! article, but I'm guessing their point was that he's no longer a must start or even a reasonable flex play most weeks and you're better off searching the waiver wire for a guy who is likely to break out in the second half of the season or find a buy low type player to trade for. In deeper leagues or if you have a lot of bench spots I guess he's a viable option if you need spot starts.

That was mainly their point, but they pretty much said he's not worth even owning in 12 team leagues. Steve Smith got old and had a resurgence this year, though I think a new team and environment helped that. I intentionally avoided drafting Fitz and laughed at his ADP, but he's having a better year than guys like Percy Harvin, Tavon Austin, Cecil Shorts and Dwayne Bowe. He's no Michael Floyd, but lots of people thought Gates was done and Green was the guy to get in SD too.

I started Maclin and Sanders in a PPR (38 and 38.6 points, respectively) and will finish with the second highest point total in my league. I'm projected for 150.

The guy I'm playing against already has 149 and with DeMarco Murray and Randall Cobb still to play is projected for 192. That would be a league record.

I have a very outside chance of victory in my PPR league (need Jimmy Graham and Lacy to outscore Rodgers and Jordan Reed by about 10).

In my other league... not so much. Here's my opponents roster:

QB - Luck
RB - Demarco Murray
RB - James Starks
WR - Antonio Brown
WR - Michael Floyd
WR - Brandon Lafell
W/R - Sammy Watkins
K - Stephen Gostkowski
DEF - New England

My 2 WRs / 1 Flex of B Marshall, Edelman and VJax went for a total of 62 yards and no TDs today. I'm about to just give up and start throwing random guys in those spots and trading them for whatever i can get.

good news: I don't regret dropping Matt Ryan and picking up Kyle Orton

bad news: I played Orton over Roethlisberger

I need Bryant to have an average or higher game and J. Nelson, DAL Def, and Shayne Graham to have average or worse games to maintain my lead

I'm sitting in 6th place in a 10-team league where 6 teams make the playoffs. I'm 4-4, and my 4 losses have been by a combined 12.5 pts. The league is non-ppr and starts 2 WR/2RB/1 W/R/T flex.

My WRs: AJ Green, TY Hilton, Reuben Randle, Terrance Williams, Deandre Hopkins
My RBs: Matt Forte, Shane Vereen, Jonas Gray, Bishop Sankey, Ryan Matthews

I was offered the following trade,

I give:
Matt Forte
TY Hilton

I get:
Lesean McCoy
Julio Jones

My intial thought is No, but what are your thoughts on the trade?

So much for getting frantic about what garbage bye week replacement WR to start this week in my 16 team league (was down to Kearse or Nicks ). Starting Big Ben, Gronk & Vikes D helped ease that pain!

I have Dez, Keenan Allen, Brandon Marshall and Steve Smith on my 14 team PPR league where we can only start 2 WRs. From here on out, do you think Steve Smith is droppable? I'm only slightly concerned about B Marshall but Dez is consistent and Allen finally got the receptions he's been missing.

Opponent had Ronnie Hillman, Peyton, and Emmanuel Sanders all go off on Thursday. I assumed my chances at a win were over before even having 1 starter play. But I'm actually in really good position to win assuming Dez Bryant and Alfred Morris can just have decent showings.

Although I'm absolutely running away with the "most points allowed" right now. I'm 2-5 currently and in my only 2 wins I've posted the highest score of the week in the league. And in this league we pay out, I think, $5 for each weekly high score. So thats nice

^Who would you pick up? In 14 team, I'm not so sure I'd drop Smith.

^^ why exactly would you drop him? he's been putting up superior numbers to Marshall and, at worst, he's available if/when someone gets injured.

^I'm contemplating stashing the NYG def for playoffs because their week 13-16 schedule is cake. I probably don't have to pull the trigger on this but I'm likely 7-1 after tomorrow so I have few concerns. You're right, it's probably smartest to just wait on stashing a defense at this point.

Anyone have any tips on a WR that I could pick up in free-agency (in a 12-team league)?...Looking for someone who is currently flying under the radar but has good upside for a big second half of the season (aren't we all, lol).

Have several big-name wide-outs on my roster who are past their prime and putting up little-name #'s:
Vincent Jackson
Reggie Wayne
Marques Colston
Michael Floyd (not past his prime obviously, but isn't exactly lighting it up either)

I already picked-up in free agency earlier this season:
Mohamed Sanu
Odell Beckham Jr.

My team is actually doing pretty well because of the guys I have at the other positions, but WR is killing me.

LaFell? He could at least have another decent game vs. Denver this week (a bye the week after though). Maybe make a deal pairing Jackson or Colston with Sanu (good sell high candidate with AJ likely back this week) to upgrade? If not, maybe Floyd & Sanu for a top tier WR on a team that's hurting for WR help?

LaFell is out as he's on someone's bench already. Should probably look at doing a package deal with Sanu and another wr like you're saying...just have to find the right team to make the trade with...there seem to be a lot of middling receivers this year with very few studs.

My opponent started the week off with Rivers and Allen on Thursday night, but I was able to counter with Stafford and Tate. at the end of yesterday, I'm only down 97.6 to 113.58.

that will be his final score, but I have K Dan Bailey and the DAL defense going tonight. Yahoo's projecting me to win by the hair on my chin.

I'm up 2 with a team thats 1-6 with the 3rd most points scored and most points against. He has Dan Bailey. We both have well over 200 after nobody else doing it all season. I fear I'm fucked.

This is probably one of the highest scoring weeks in my 10 team league that I've ever seen. One guy went for over 200 points (he had Gronk and Arian Foster). 8 teams went for 125 or more.

Looking ahead a few weeks, who has better upside Fred Jackson or Tre Mason?

I need some RB help and am looking to make a trade in the next week or two. Current RB situation is Ingram, Oliver, Jennings, Mason, McFadden

Fred Jackson by a mile. He was already a top 15 RB, and will have an even better potential when he comes back from injury, since Spiller is out.

What the fuck has Tre Mason done to make you think he's comparable to Fred Jackson?

Standard non-ppr league, start 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 flex.

My WRs: TY Hilton, AJ Green, Reuben Randle, Deandre Hopkins, Terrance Williams, Edelman, J. Gordon
My Rbs: Matt Forte, Shane Vereen, Jonas Gray, Lorenzo Taliaferro

Would you do this trade?

I give:
TY Hilton
Shane Vereen

I get:
Kelvin Benjamin
Alfred Morris

thoughts?

^ I don't think I would. I don't know what your bye situation is like, but it looks like you're still going to have to start a boom-or-bust RB whenever Forte and Vereen or Morris have a bye. I would assume that if Vereen's production falls off, it'll be in favor of Gray, so you're taken care of there, and I don't see Benjamin putting up high numbers as consistently as TY Hilton (especially if you're in a PPR league). I would try to package Vereen and one of your surplus of mid-level receivers for a RB upgrade, especially since you'll be able to use Gordon to plug that hole in a couple weeks.

Just picked up Martarvis Bryant, but now thinking about dropping him for Rashad Jennings. Not planning on starting either this week, but I've got four byes next week (Rivers, DJax, Hilton, Foster), so if Jennings isn't back by then, I'd likely need to pick up someone else to plug in at that point, although there's a good chance I lose next week regardless so long-term payoff has priority. Thoughts?

Here's my roster (1/2 pt ppr, start 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 flex):
RB: Foster, Lynch, Ingram
WR: Hilton, D. Jackson, Marshall, Crabtree, J. Gordon, M. Bryant
TE: Graham

I'd go Jennings in that situation. Williams hasn't be lighting up the world in his absence and odds are Bryant won't be a consistent fantasy starter/flex ROS.

^I agree

^^ Thanks. I ending just mentioning a trade in passing to a guy I work with and ended up accepting the following:

I give:
Deandre Hopkins
Terrance Williams

I get:
Gio Bernard

I'm sitting at 4-4 (4 losses by combined 12 pts) and in 6th place in a league where 6 teams make the playoffs.

Roster is now:
QB:Cam Newton
RB: Matt Forte, Gio Bernard, Shane Vereen, Jonas Gray, Lorenzo Taliaferro
WR:AJ Green, TY Hilton, Reuben Randle, Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon
TE: Larry Donnell

With that being said, would you drop Edelman for any of the following?

Brandon Lafell
Michael Crabtree
Andre Holmes
Mike Evans

League is non-ppr. Thoughts?
