Remaining fixtures for the title challengers. Tough matches left for both and Chelsea is going to have a huge say in the title race for both clubs. Leicester certainly have the tougher set of fixtures and both clubs have to play Chelsea away. Could get tricky for Tottenham if Newcastle still have a chance on the last day, assuming of course Leicester don't wrap it up by then. The worst part for Tottenham is that Leicester play before them in all of the remaining fixtures. I believe that May 1 weekend is going to be the most vital. Leciester travel to Manchester and Spurs go to Stamford Bridge. If a team has to win the title at the Theater of Dreams it wouldn't be more fitting than Leicester doing it at Old Trafford.

I did this all on the last page. Leicester has to drop points in 3 of their last 5... don't see it happening to a team that has trailed for 47 minutes total since end of October.

I know it's a cool story and everything but I hope they bottle it and Spurs win the title. Mostly for the lols at Arsenal fans but also because Spurs are a really fun team to watch. Seems like Leicester just nick a goal here and there and grind out 1-0's.

Leicester:

West Ham (H) - Draw 73
Swansea (H) - Win 76
Man U (A) - Lose 76
Everton (H) - Draw 77
Chelsea (A) - Lose 77

Spurs:

Stoke (A) - Win 68
West Brom (H) - Win 71
Chelsea (A) - Lose 71
Southampton (H) - Win 74
Newcastle (A) - Win 77

Not saying that will happen, or is even likely, but it's certainly possible with a tricky run-in for Leicester.

I appreciate the support aimorris. We've played the most entertaining brand of soccer between the two for sure. I've never been a fan of the long ball, and that's Leicester's bread and butter. They hit you once, and then park the bus Mourinho style and try to hang on. It's annoying.

At least I know we aren't a one season wonder like they are, and we should be able to put a legit title challenge from the beginning of the season next year. That's what's keeping me from feeling really disappointed about 2nd place.

lolololol, did your hipster meter say supporting Leicester is too mainstream?

You have a problem with them nicking a goal winning their games 1-0? Your storied franchise hasn't sniffed a title since that backpass rule was changed. You shouldn't be talking shit.

Tottenham also spent a shit ton of money to do so. Leicester are literally the biggest upset in sports history. Don't care how they are winning it, Tottenham doesn't deserve it if after 38 matches they are 2nd on the table. For all their "pretty" football they have only scored 3 goals more than Leicester right now.

Lol this reeks of sour grapes. What is to say Leicester are a once season wonder? What is to say Tottenham will be challenging again next year? My money is on them both not making the top 4. I expect Chelsea, City, Arsenal, and Liverpool be top 4 next year. Tottenham can't compete with Chelsea, City, and United's money. Liverpool have a better manager and if they can get him the players I expect them to be there. United's ability to challenge will depend on who the manager is next year. So while I expect Tottenham to challenge for the top 4, I am not going to be banking on them making it with bigger teams with more resources competing for the same spots.

That steady, slow improvement in the team year over year trending in the right direction for half a decade must have been too subtle for you. This is has been coming. Not only do we have the best training complex in London, we're about to break in the biggest stadium in London in one more season. Coincidentally, right as this core of the youngest team in the league this season (who could still win the title) are coming into their primes as players. I think as well as the club is run, we're not going anywhere anytime soon.

They've got a rock solid foundation to the club as a whole. There's a harmony amongst the squad, the club, and the fans and everyone recognizes this team is built to make a few runs at trophies in the coming years.

You can go and talk all your shit about rebuilding, but we're currently rebuilt and the players have that understanding in Poch's awesome system already. The title run-in the next few weeks will be valuable experience they'll take into next season as well. So we'll be waiting to see what your summer cash hemorrhage comes up with this time. Teams are going to know you're desperate and gouge the shit out of you too. popcorn.gif

I've got a feeling that United might find it a tad bit harder this summer to attract the most elite players because of the no CL. That will be a crucial tiebreaker if it's close between yall or another one of the money clubs.

lol. Tottenham has a 2 or 3 year window in which to win a title and it isn't going to get any easier than it is this year. I agree Tottenham have a good structure in place and a young squad but all of that won't mean jack if bigger clubs poach them or they can't deliver results. Barring a collapse from Leicester this year, Tottenham is going to face a tough task next year with teams like City under Pep and also Liverpool under Klopp.

A lot of people would rather teams like Leicester, without their riches, win the league than the traditional challengers. Also I am not sure why you are complaining about Leicester's style of play because they have been very good and the most consistent team all year. This Leicester team is far from Mourinho's camp players in the back and nick a win. They play proper counter attacking football and have the team chemistry to execute it to a tee. It isn't just hoofing long balls up to Vardy to win it, that is laughable if anyone actually believes that's how they have played this year.

I mean, good for those people but I don't care and Spurs are not a "traditional challenger" anyway.

Plain and simple, I enjoy watching Spurs play more than I do Leicester. I never said they were shit or didn't deserve it and I won't be mad if they win it or anything but I'm pulling for Spurs. I'm also biased because I think it would be cool to say I saw them in person the season they won the title. At the very least, I hope Leicester drop some points in the next few games so the last few weekends are interesting.

fair enough. While I don't want it to go down to the last day for the sake of Leicester I do hope it goes down to the second last day. Although Leicester winning it on the last day would be just as epic. I just don't think we will ever see a team like Leicester win the PL again if they do it. This is the David vs Goliath of the century. The story is too incredible for it not to have a fairy tale ending.

What is the long term outlook on Fosu-Mensah? Is he eventually going to be a defensive midfielder?

Thinking about him for my keeper league but only if he's a defender.

Good question. I have seen him play defensive mid, on both wings as a full back, and at center half. Fosu Mensah has immense talent and against Tottenham he proved it admirably. I personally think his long term future lies at center half. He is still too young to say how many chances he gets there. I worry that with Mourinho these kids are going to be shut out. Fosu Mensah, Varela, Rashford, and Pereira deserve a chance to prove themselves.

I see someone didn't take a business class in school. This is pure stock valuation and actually doesn't mean jack shit for the club. In fact Manchester United is well on track to overtake Real Madrid as the richest club very soon. Of course those are based on commercial revenues which are largely affected by performance. In the long term, unless Man United miss out on 2 or 3 more CL in the next 3 years it won't hurt at all.

For all your doom and gloom this article is purely click bait. LMAO at your sentence starting with "The dangers...." This doesn't effect one bit of Man United's commercial revenue or profit. Maybe next time you should actually learn about the things you try to talk about, football included mate.

In fact in terms of sports franchises publicly listed, it would actually be a great opportunity to invest in Man United right now. Man United has the funds in place to bring in the right managers and players to try to turn it around. Sport stock are volatile in the stock market precisely because of knee jerk reactions to the results. Man United reached its highest valuation just last fall and have dipped over the course of the season in stock price. Firing LVG and hiring someone like Mourinho will have an immediate impact on that stock price in the positive. Also, if you look at Man United's commercial revenue stream our cash flow and balance sheet are very healthy. The stock price is low partly because of market correction and partly because the performances predict lower cash flows. However, for PL teams, especially teams with commercial holdings like United's future cash flows are actually looking quiet good. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't believe any of this because you think I am being biased but as a business Man United is actually doing incredibly well. It would take sustained long term mediocrity to actually affect us in any tangible way.

lumping you lot into the same category. I am sure just like the usual schadenfreude that article got a lot of attention amongst other PL fans, regardless if you understand financial implications or how the stock market actually operates.

^ I mean we could pool a liverpool and still be ok for at least another 5 or 6 years. Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal have a long term fan base and commercial deals all over the world. It would take huge financial mismanagement for these teams to pull a leeds. Mediocrity on the pitch is one thing but that won't stop these clubs from spending big money or going bankrupt, Liverpool being case in point.

Why the fuck couldn't we play like this against Tottenham? Completely different performance. I wonder why with Herrera starting in midfield and our guys actually making forward runs in the right positions. Fucking hell LVG.

Great finish from Marcus but West Ham have a lot of talent and I really worry we will try to defend 1-0 instead of pushing on and finishing off this match.

Speaking of diving cunts... serious question, what happened to Januzaj?

Also, it makes me sad there will be no St Totteringham's Day this year... but all trolling aside, I actually think they have built a contender the absolute correct way and not so dissimilar from how Wenger prefers to build his teams. I'm interested to see how they'll keep their talent with the stadium building.

Vardy you chav bastard. Come on Huth and Morgan!

On Januzaj: went on a dumb move to Dortmund first half of the season. Didn't get playing time and got hurt and was recalled. Got a few sub appearances since from the bench, hasn't impressed though and got hurt again. Not looking good for him but I think he has one more year to try to prove himself.

^ I don't get this. It's bloody insane what Leicester is doing every week, Arlo is doing his job tremendously as an announcer to get us all excited for this. Best commentator in the game with Ian Darke right now IMO.

Football bloody hell! This title race is going down to the wire. What a finish here. Thoroughly entertaining. Vardy not having a party today though.

Leicester absolutely needs to win this title. The premier league deserves this and all of the minnows of the world deserve this.
