Because one source rumored it and then every tech blog on the planet reposted it?
Haptic feedback on the iPad 3 was "pretty much confirmed" there for a while until it wasn't. And lots of people are still waiting on that 7 inch iPad. Remember those tear drop shaped cases that were supposed to fit the iPhone 5 perfectly? Why do so many people (that don't generate ad revenue on a per-click basis) put so much stock in rumors? And then insist on perpetuating the "rumor-as-fact" epidemic by saying things like this?]5/17/2012 4:32:06 PM |

Can the apple store replace my screen in store while I'm there? Or do they send it off or just swap it out? Debating whether to order a screen online or not. 5/17/2012 4:44:56 PM |

they have a 9.8/10 on resellersratings with 1380 reviews 4.5/5 on epinions with 1016 reviews 5/5 on amazon specifically for the iphone plan with 298 reviews
Basically the only downside that I've ever seen with them is with multiple repairs. They warranty your product for the full value and then deduct from that value for each repair. For instance if you have to get a new mobo on a $800 laptop and that mobo repair is valued at $450, you only have $350 left for another repair or (if it can't be fixed for that) a refund instead of the full $800. The fine print for that is
Quote : | "VALUE OF YOUR COVERAGE The total value of your Care Plan is in most cases equal to the purchase price of your item. For every valid claim filed against your item for which we provide repair services, the total value of your coverage is reduced by the cost of the repair services rendered. In the event a valid claim is filed with us and repair costs are estimated to exceed the current value of your Care Plan - the balance of your Care Plan value will be offered instead." |

I think a 4" screen is much more likely than a haptic screen for the new iPad ever was.
WSJ (notorious for being an Apple PR 'leak' source) has a story about how Steve worked closely on the design of the new iPhone. To me, this pretty much confirms the boost in screen size. Apple getting out in front of inevitable complaining by the fanboys who think '3.5 is perfect' because Jobs said so once.
I think 4" is a good size. Not so large you can't handle it with one hand, but it gives a nice boost in viewing area.

- Iphone5 will probably be released sometimes in the fall. - it might have a bigger screen - It will be 4g[lte] on Verizon??

I was being civil. Seriously, what the hell did you think you were going to get when you asked those questions? Do you honestly think that anyone reading and posting on this site has answers? The only thing that we know is the same stupid rumors posted on the same stupid sites that you've already read. Last year everybody thought the iPhone 5 was going to come out in June and they ended up releasing a phone in October and calling it the iPhone 4S. Apple fucking does what they want to do when they want to do it. So asking your dumb questions here isn't going to get you any real answers. So when I didn't call you out for being a dumbass with my first reply, that was me being civil. When I didn't call you out for calling it an Iphone instead of an iPhone, that was me being civil. When I pointed out that I was being a dick to preempt you from getting pissy, that was me being civil. When I told you to go fuck your mother, that was me stooping down to your level.

Three days ago I got my 4S wet when it plopped into the sink (running water). I dried it off as best I could. A few hours later, it wouldn't play sound when watching videos or listening to music. The headphones worked well, as did the ringer.
Tried a few different things to no avail.
Went to the Apple Store near me and the assistant ran some diagnostics and couldn't find any internal moisture sensors tripped.
So they gave me a brand new one.

I will continue calling it the iphone 5 until apple decides they are going to officially name it.
Also El Nacho, you're crazy. Did you totally forget the iphone 3g and iphone 3gs? The iphone 4s is the 6th generation hardware and if we went by your logic the iphone 4 would have been called the iphone 5. 6/8/2012 1:05:25 AM |

There have been 5 "generations" of iPhones:
iPhone - June 2007 iPhone 3G - July 2008 iPhone 3Gs - June 2009 iPhone 4 - June 2010 iPhone 4s - October 2011
A lot of people confuse the "3G" phone with being the 3rd generation which is inaccurate. I hate to support El Nacho here, but this year's release will be the 6th generation of iPhone. 6/8/2012 11:07:53 AM |

lol you're right, forgot there was no 2.
But they would still be retarded to call the next iphone the iphone 6. I mean Nacho says that no reputable news sources call it the iphone 5 but since he goes on to say that nobody outside apple knows anything about it that means any source that mentions the next iphone is automatically non-reputable by Nacho's standards.
Also strongly objecting to anyone who refers to it as an iphone 5 is annoying. I don't get prickly every time someone mentions speculation of the "xbox 720"

Just based on the "new" iPad title, my guess is that they will refer to this one as the "new" iPhone as well. With the hopes that people will eventually accept that and they can just start calling it the "iPhone" and drop all other affixes off of it. However, about half of the apps I update on my iPad still call the "new" iPad the iPad 3. "Updated resolution to work better with the iPad3" is something I see all the time. If they stick with it over time, people will eventually buy into the "new" naming scheme I guess. I guess maybe we'll find out some information Monday at the earliest. 6/8/2012 12:39:44 PM |

Yeah the "New iPad" naming scheme only really works for one generation. After that they are going to have to start going by hardware generation numbers again.
Or they could use software/car style and call it the 2014 iPad. 6/8/2012 2:35:53 PM |

On what planet does this make even a tiny amount of sense? There's going to be a new iPhone, that's about the only given. Speculation and rumors are fun, if they're taken with the proper perspective. Starting off by calling the phone the iPhone 5, when it's not the 5th phone, nor does it immediately follow the iPhone 4 is idiotic, and I haven't seen a reputable site (yes, I consider there to be several) do that yet. ]6/8/2012 3:42:52 PM |

The same planet where Rockstar named a game GTA 4 when it was actually the 6th or 7th GTA game.
The Iphone 4S was not a part of the numerical series, so it's clear that Apple doesn't consider it a true sequel but an update

You can't, eh? Well then your imagination must be about as good as your grammar. Off the top of my head I could think about hundreds of things that are less important that get argued about every day. I don't really even see it as an argument, but a spirited discussion. There's nothing to do right now but speculate about features and sizes and apps and, yes naming. If it's not something that interests you, so be it, but I've seen plenty of articles on the internet speculating about what it will be called, so obviously some people are interested. 6/8/2012 7:53:52 PM |
