i just got the world's most comfortable lounge/pj/yoga? pants at target. they are soft. probably not that flattering although they have super duper wide legs...i like loose fitting pj things.
anyway http://tinyurl.com/3rbtqrf they are seriously the softest most comfortable thing ever. they feel like a tshirt that has been washed 38274920348 times. they are modal, whatever that is. some kind of tree textile thing. anyways, wanted to share because they rock. will probs go back and get another color now. i got the green but there was a greyish color i also kinda liked. and everyone loves black. i <3 them. 4/30/2011 12:22:10 AM |

^^ i mean i'm sure they have, i just don't really pay that much attention to fabrics. i like soft stuff. usually buy cotton over synthetic stuff. and that is really as much attention as i pay. but when i felt this i immediately looked to see what it was made of...felt like pima cotton but it wasn't, so i looked it up. it was interesting to read about. i guess it is apparently pretty eco friendly, too?
i just really like the way it feels. amazing. i wish all my clothes felt like this. 5/1/2011 3:44:22 AM |

Sooooo, there I was in the antique store in Cameron Village, looking through racks of AWESOME vintage clothes. People were skinny back then so it's hard to find something that fits! Then I see this pink dress on the rack ... vintage 60's ... I said to myself, I MUST HAVE that dress! I don't care if I have to wear four pairs of progressively smaller Spanx.
So I tried it on and glory of glories, it fits PERFECTLY!!! I LOVE it!!! Makes me feel like Joan from Mad Men (if she were a 38B )
Made me think of Joie's post on vanity sizing. I'm normally a 6-8, but this pink dress is a 12! Guess 40 years of vanity sizing has really changed things

thanks ladies! I wore it out on Saturday night and I could tell everyone was jealous
The only downside ... apparently polyester had just been discovered and everyone was all excited and decided to make all clothing out of this miracle fabric. so the fabric is kind of sweaty/itchy, but whatever! I'll put up with some discomfort to look that good ] 5/1/2011 9:44:08 PM |

Modal is just a fancy name for rayon, essentially. Rayon is any reconstituted cellulosic fiber. It's still cotton. It may go through some different manufacturing and texturizing processes, but it's lovely cotton 5/1/2011 11:22:32 PM |

^^^Adorable!!!
Quick gripe that's not based on anything posted in this thread:
CHEAP CLOTHING STORES CONSISTENTLY HAVE THE WORST COLORS!
And when they do get a decent color, they sell out so quick.
I know that dye is expensive or whatever, but good God, why do they even bother with some of this stuff? There'll be like an okay-looking shirt, and it comes in bright yellow, neon pink, maroon, and navy. And it's just like, WTF?!?!? WHY?!?!??

Does anyone have experience with angular chelitis??? Aka... when the corners of your mouth split
It happened randomly when I yawned a few months ago, and I have had the hardest time getting it to heal properly. I looked up the causes and I definitely don't have thrush, and I take a multivitamin (usually) so I don't know about the riboflavin deficiency....
Anyway, I have tried everything from moisturizer around the area to chapstick to putting straight vitamin E oil on it. It keeps cracking on one side. I hate it because it's starting to leave a scar and I feel like the f'ing Joker 5/2/2011 8:55:22 PM |

i had angular chelitis but no special tips to share. mine took a couple months to heal at least. try to avoid opening your mouth too much. no hotdogs or tacos or BJs. mine scarred some too, but most of the scar became a skin tag and i cut it off with sterile stuff. now it looks normal, but the skin is still kinda fragile 6 months later. 5/2/2011 9:12:21 PM |

Can we get some links going for some nice, high quality work clothes? Is it bad that I love the professional pants and blouses on victorias secret- but, damnit...teachers can't look like porn stars. I need something like Lerner New York - but will hold up longer in the wash. AND I don't want to pay ann taylor prices for it. I was thinking about buying clothes in lots on ebay..... 5/2/2011 10:44:18 PM |

i have found lots of cute professional clothes on sale at places like macys and belk. those places always have coupons in the paper, too. you can find some insane deals. and they aren't all "mom" type clothes. i've gotten several calvin klein pieces at macy's that i really like. a suiting dress, dress pants, etc.
i know everyone is usually like "ahhhh department stores"
and yea, i'm often super confused wandering around them. but some of my best pieces i have gotten from belk's and macy's
you can ALSO find good quality sale stuff ad nordstrom and nordstrom rack.
also, and i can't remember if you are local, i feel like you might not be, but either way tanger outlets (or any of those other big outlet places) are good to check out, too. you might even find an ann taylor loft outlet.

i ALMOST got the cropped ones, too! yea these seriously aren't very long though now that i think about it. i don't have that much room at all in the bottom and i am short. usually with sweat/pj pants they are dragging a few inches on the ground. these don't and i'm a super shorty so i could see that being a problem for anyone taller than me. i still think the cropped are cute too. i might go back and get a pair.

never buy "lots" on ebay unless they are coming from a private seller....aka....some chick posts something like "i gained or lost weight/got pregnant/got a new job/etc and these clothes don't work for me anymore"...
not the ones where you can find 10+ auctions with the exact same pictures and descriptions...

I had this once, no joke, Vick's VaporRub fixed it right up. Actually I'm addicted to it now. I put it on my lips and in the cracking corners at night in bed and after a day or two it felt so much better. Now I use it every night (it's been 3 years) and my lips are so nice and supple and the smell puts me to sleep. 5/3/2011 10:28:11 AM |

I have been a Goodwill fool the last few months. I have found so many Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Express, etc. pants that fit me really well (which is a serious problem for me) there. ack! i haven't looked on there in awhile (trying to break the addiction haha) and just looked to see...there are like 5 tops and 2 skirts that i REALLY like haha. i love those "drape tanks" that are in like 8 colors. and the tie bow top!!!
BOOOOO!!! lol
there are seriously 2 skirts i love though. but they look long on the models, who i am sure are like 9ft 7inches and all leg. so on me they'd drag the floor and make me look amish and/or mormon. no offense if anyone is amish or mormon. but durn. i like the cinch waist button skirt and the banded flowy one.
