Dad's surgery went well. He's been in recovery but now he's getting settle in his room for the night.

Tomorrow is the big test to see if the stent is doing its job.

My friends and everyone at work has been so awesome and it makes me happy that I have such good friends looking out

My granny got a stent put in a few months ago and she acts twenty years younger now. She was getting so feeble and now she's the granny i remember from when i was little.

My grandmother is 91 years old and comes from a family riddled with heart problems. When she was in her 50s, she lost over 100 pounds and completely changed her lifestyle. She also controlled her blood pressure with diet and medication. A little over 10 years ago, she finally had to have a valve replaced and 4 bypasses. Now, she has been given < 6 months to live, BUT it has nothing to do with her heart problems. In fact, doctors comment on how strong her heart is for someone of her advanced age.

Point is, a family history isn't a death sentence. . .it's a warning to be proactive about your health.
