i need a new job. tyler needs a new job.

so sick of having to eat after 7pm every night of the week b/c of work.

this is ridiculous.

anyone need a secretary? i'm a very speedy typist.

also - i dont care if you went to school for 8 years and you have fancy initials after your name - you shouldn't be able to leave until the last patient has been checked out up front. maybe that will stop you from bringing a pt out to optical 20 minutes after the office closes and then bust out of there in your fancy schmancy car. if i wasn't brought up nicely, i would spit on your tires.

Uggg...I hate it when you make plans with someone and then you don't hear from them after the plans are made when it's time to go.

I mean gah...I'm sitting here ready to go and nothing.

It's so much harder to keep the house clean when I'm here alone because it's so easy to think "eh nobody will care if I wait until tomorrow" and then tomorrow turns into a week later.

luckily my dog doesn't really dig in the trash

she does however suck at doing all things DOG (which is prob why she stays out of the trash)

exhibit A: going on walks

how the F do you teach a dog to like walks? she walks with her tail between her legs and zig zags around. she doesn't pull...i have to pull her dumb ass. and if someone is coming toward you on the sidewalk she backs up, then turns and sprints the other way. what a freak.

(all of this happened on today's walk, and it was probably her most successful yet)

exhibit B: riding in a car. she finally gets close to the window when it is open and sticks her nose up to it. she won't put her head out though.

i forgot to mention that after the people passed by on the walk she tried to follow them

i think walks just make her nervous (i wish i knew why though?!). and some people. but when she is scared of people it isn't the cowering scared its the hair up on back barking and growling scared. which is fine by me. because she has only done that to two people and it was def warranted. most people (even like the mail man or jimmy john's peeps) she is like...HEY FRIEND HEY FRIEND HEY FRIEND to. haha...i was beginning to wonder if she had any sense of danger or whatever at all. but then i found out that she does so...that is comforting

once on a walk she saw a horse (don't ask) and broke out of her collar and ran like 4 blocks all the way back to the house, lol

she is a special, special girl

there's a chance that she was abused before she landed in your care.

So did the hyperbole and half writer's "simple dog"

But brina isn't a fan of running in to other dogs while on a walk. She mainly ignores them though, but she'll put her hair up for some. I think she's like "bitch...it's my potty time; you're interrupting me with your butt sniffing. Please move along and leave me alone"

She's otherwise a confident walker though.

She's also particular about car rides. Less than 60mph, during the day (or at least startIng out that way), sunny or overcast (no rain in other words). Window down, mild traffic. Heavy traffic, rain, night and over 60 mph she gets nervous.

^^ yea, i know she was. she had cig burns on her when i got her. but i've had her over a year haha. she is just super strange. she also bites in her sleep, which is weird too.

^ lol i remember reading a simple dog post where the dog was scared of stairs. my dog was scared of stairs for the first month or so i had her. i lived on the third floor. i did a LOT of lifting to go in and out haha. and she is a 55lb dog. SO GLAD the stair fear is over.

and glad she's not the only one particular about car rides. she FINALLY learned that a breeze feels good but...its taking her a hot minute to figure out how to be a dog and do things dogs like.

she's more like a cat really. when i get home from work, my cat is waiting at the door meowing. my dog is in my bed and when i walk in she yawns and stretches, lol. and she (the dog) is always ready for a nap. she also sleeps in as long as i sleep in...no waking me up to pee. in the morning i have to drag her ass outside. which i must admit is pretty nice for sleep in mornings

You might be coddling your dog and in turn rewarding it when it shows fear. Be calm and assertive with your dog. Be the pack leader for her to follow and have confidence in.

Also, she probably needs more socialization.

Ok so I'm on Google Streetview somewhere...I remember it passing by while we were standing in traffic in a small city in Europe. I've narrowed it down to a few blocks but I'm too lazy to go up and down the streets looking for me.
