Nothing like seeing a couple of guys run through probably 20+ sets of tricep work. Seriously, how much good can that really do you if your name isn't Jay Cutler? Am I way off base here or is that just way too much for one muscle?

Light tricep and back day followed by a quick ab workout and then back to the house. Knees hurt too much to run today.

i get my triceps through weighted dips, various forms of benching, various forms of overhead presses (mil press, db, jerks, pushpresses and more).

[Edited on December 15, 2006 at 1:04 AM. Reason : well, i lied, sometimes i will throw in a couple of sets of isolation work]

^^I rarely if ever do isolation work for biceps and triceps. that's probably why my arms are disproportionately small compared to my upper body and shoulders.

does anyone ever get intense headaches in their frontal lobe after doing squats? I've been getting them lately, and they are getting progressively worse. Today I was about to vomit from the pain of the headache. If this keeps up, I'm probably going to need to see a doctor about it, because I might have high blood pressure or something I need to be worried about.

I get spells like that, most of the time its allergies. Or it could be sex headaches. They get pretty bad right after a set and the light and sound starts bothering me.

I only get them when doing squats though, and I'm worried that I might be holding my breath while doing them and compressing nitrogen into my bloodstream or something along those lines from going deep.

I seriously doubt it's dehydration. I drink at least 6 quarts of water a day just sitting at home and at the office, and that's not counting the water that is in the food I eat or my PWO shakes.

Could be an excertion (sp? not looking it up) headache. I used to get them.

I've thrown up recently after sets of deads followed by sets of cleans and press and over head squats.

I'm going to try this Max-OT lifting program starting today and see how well it works for me. I've been doing basic splits forever, so I figure it might be time to try out something new.

I also need to run for a while since I've eaten like absolute shit for the past two days even though I've managed to keep my daily caloric intake low.

I got a box for christmas, the one from elite and it ways a ton to lug around. I think I'm going to keep it at 12 inches for all my squats so I go deeper then what I was doing, (I had to use aerobic boxes, so it was squat to par for me or squat like 4 inches below. But this has been a hard transition and has really showed some weaknesses in my lift.

I would also like to get a giant tractor tire, for cheap and use that as a sub for cardio some days along w/ keg tosses and sled work. I got my ass kicked doing bear crawls w/ my new Spud Inc harness, thought I was going to puke.

Holy christ alive, this gym is awesome...chains, rubber plates, Dl platform, rvs hyper, ghr and what looks like an EFS bench. Too bad its a private gym only available for single sessions. God damn, I would pay out the ass to use this place. Right off Hillsborough...

today I priced an elliptical machine at US Fitness and then proceeded on to Gold's gym in Cary to price memberships. I'd love to have a nice elliptical machine in my home so that I could do cardio in the morning before work, but that Gold's gym was a very nicely equipped facility. I don't think I should shell out the money for both a membership and a piece of cardio equipment, so it's decision making time.

Maybe I'll just dump my business card in every free membership drawing for Gold's memberships that I can find, and then get the elliptical machine. It's not like the free weights were any nicer at Gold's as compared to Planet Fitness, and I don't use machines.

^I think I saw you walking into planet fitness when I was walking out.

Anyway, today was circuit day. Two different circuits, 3 times through each one, no rest between exercises, 1 minute rest between each set, 3 minutes between circuits. Ended the day with ab work.

Circuit 1 (power circuit): 3x10 - Clean and Press, Squat, Deadlift, Pushups
Circuit 2: 3x10 - Bicep Curl, Behind the head tricep press, Lunge, Pushups

I felt like crap immediately afterwards, but I feel great now.

Is there any downside to lifting later at night

The Wolf Village gym is pretty convenient then

I'm just starting out though, and I'm skinny as hell, so it weirds me out just being in there with like one girl on a treadmill or something

I took off a few weeks of lifting so I could focus on cardio during the new year's rush, and I'm paying for it now. I can't remember the last time my upper body has been this sore, and today is leg day. Knowing me, I'll overdo it as usual and pay for it on Friday.

I been waiting forever for the new Gold's Gym in Pleasant Valley to open up.

Yesterday I really wanted to get a workout in so I went to the Rex Wellness Center off of Lake Boone Trail for a day membership.

Worked in a few sets on machines, finished up with a hard run on the ellipticals. Certainly not a gym that I would join ($52 a month, aimed more at rehab and other post-surgery/trainer routines) but it was nice.

I hear that Gold's Gym should open up on Monday though. I am very excited to see what they offer.

Well the Arnold was sweet. Left Morgantown, WV at 4:45 and got there at 8. Got my ticket and was in line for the expo at 9. Well it was sensory overload, pornstars hocking supplements (most of it was like shitty No-Xplode stuff). Booths were giving away free products and discounted product. I got about 8 large muscle milk shakes for free. I also have a small box full of free samples of other supps, it was pretty cool. Got a bunch of free shirts and hats as well. The GNC booth was pretty sweet because they had the grip gauntlet, where you hade to close a #2, pick up a blob and a #190 Rolling Thunder. There was also a sick bench demo with some 800+ attempts. The was the Animal cage. I use to hate Universal Nutrition because I hated the hype the surround animal paks with and shit. But after meeting these guys, they are the real do. They were putting up huge weights and were willing to talk to you. They also held q and a sessions full of swaaring, the best roids to take....all in front of children and families...it was unreal.

But my highlights...
Meeting Arnold
Watching Andy Bolton break the squat record and all time total record and go for the dl record.
Seeing how hot Jamie Eason is in person.
Meeting Jay Cutler, Phil Pfister and Jesse Murande
and Having Dave Tate run into me with a box.
