ok, eli manning at the redskins or mark brunell vs. the giants? eli's sucked the last few games but he has a lot more weapons to work with, while brunell is coming off a 3 TD game against dallas. this is for the championship. thoughts?

Where's the love, any suggestions are welcome.

QB
Garrard (v. HOU) or Delhomme (v. DAL)

RB
Bettis (v. CLE) or J. Wells (v. JAC) or M. Bennett (v. BAL)

WR
w/ E. Parker out (this might kill me)
Ma. Clayton (v. MIN) or J. McCareins (v. NE) or B. Lloyd (its looking like he might be out for week 16 as well) (v. STL)

Here is my line up as of now:

QB - Delhomme
WR - Ro. Smith - solid
WR - I. Bruce (might consider switching out) (v. SF)
WR - B. Engram (he has been huge the last 4-5 weeks)
RB - T. Barber - solid
RB - ? see above
TE - T. Gonzalez - solid
W/T - L. Coles (v. NE) (up in the air on this one)
W/R - Ma. Clayton (also up in the air) (v. MIN)

K - J. Wilkins - solid

My D is solid:

DB - T. McGee
DB - A. Archuleta
DL - K. Bulluck
DL - L. Briggs

These are all tough calls, just looking for some feedback.

gerard, bennett and clayton based solely on the defenses they are playing

^ The Guru agrees, to some extent.

Not becasue of the defenses they are playing, but because of the lack of legitimate options.

The only thing i can say though is if D. Davis ends up not playing this week (why would he jepordize his health to return early from a knee injury to play for the Texans??) then Wells is a really good play.

I have Davis on one of my rosters and earlier this season he was a game time decision. I found out (from checking numerous reports from different fantasy websites) that he wasnt going to play, only about 20 minutes before kickoff. I was fortunate enough to be able to pick up Wells and started him, only to have him reach about 100 combined and two scores.

Dominick Davis is a great player, but the Texans offense revolves around its running back, whether its Davis or Wells. Whoever it is will be the #1 rushing option, and at absolute worst. the #2 passing option. If Davis is a late scratch, you have to start Wells over Bennett, especially considering the Ravens are coming off a "big" MNF win in primetime and will be the focal point of the league once again in its Christmas night game at home vs. the Vikings.

Pay attention the the updates, but more than likely you wont know until ~1 hr before the game. Obviously you can wait, b/c your second best option is the opposing teams starting running back.

^^^Manning, Giants defense is much, much better than the Cowboys.

^ Garrard. The Guru is starting Garrard this week in his semi final matchup. Im looking for at least 1 rushing TD and hoping for two throwing. This could be Garrard's last week according to the reports that they want to bring Leftwich back for week 17.

Go with ECU's Finest.

It's the Championship game for my 12 team league. Top 2 teams all year squaring off. I am torn between Cooley, Lelie, & Givens as my WR/RB option. I would go with Givens, but I worry that they won't need to pass & the game doesn't mean much to them anyway. I think I am leaning towards Cooley. Opinions?

The guru says to go with a receiver who is on a team that may need to pass in order to win. After that, pick the player that is on a team that NEEDS to win and will more than likely NOT be in a blowout situation.

You are then left with arguably Brunell's favorite reciever in Cooley. He may not score in this game, but he will be busy as a dump off and screen option against a very quick and sometimes over pursuing Giants defense.

Start Cooley with Confidence.

watch what i say.

Cooley will be the receipient of many screens and dumpoffs because the Giants pass rush will be on a mission to destroy Mark Brunell.

Did anyone see the first time they played?

3 catches for 19 yards.

Zack Crockett (V. DEN)* or Michael Clayton (V. MIN) or (and a BIG or considering it is his last home game, ever) M. Faulk (V. SF)

Larry Johnson and T. Barber

LT isn't a definite play with his injury yet

Quote :
"Dec 20 Tomlinson probably could have missed some time this week after aggravating his bruised ribs in Sunday's win over the Indianapolis Colts, but he was able to work out with the San Diego Chargers on Tuesday. The running back fully expects to be in the starting lineup for Saturday's showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Advice: Tomlinson has averaged just 3.4 yards per carry in his last three games, while also failing to reach the end zone over that span. He'll get 20-plus carries again this weekend with a touchdown likely. Backup Michael Turner will see more time if Tomlinson happens to make the injury any worse."

its possible tho

While LT is a solid RB, he hasn't been producing as of late, and the Chiefs run D is solid, despite last week's efforts. That was their first game giving up a 100-yard rusher all season.

For my third receiver...Reggie Wayne @ SEA, Joe Jurevicius vs IND, or Heath Miller @ CLE? Im not sure Jurevicius playing time will ellipse Waynes potentially leaving early with DJackson back, but Heath Millers did nothing lately (granted a lot of that was when Roethlisberger was hurt, but still).

^ remember, Jurevicius is now back to being the #3 receiver @ Seattle with Jackson and Engram back. He is in a similar situation with Brandon Stokley, they both play on high powered offenses and those in front of them on the roster will be sitting. Both make Great plays this week and next.

I'd go with Jurevicius.

^Yeah but didn't you say LT was fine to start this week?

And didn't I say KC would shut him down?

Point for me, haha.

And actually while Cooley did get his TD, he wasn't Brunell's favorite target this week. That award would go the monster game of one Santana Moss who finally remembered how he played to start the season.

And yes, never ask whether or not to start LJ. He is on a desperate team still in the chase, and he is one of the top backs in the league behind one of the best lines. I don't care WHAT defense he faces, he's GOING to get 100 yards. SD had the BEST run-D in the league and he topped the 100-yard mark yet again.

But if you picked Julius Jones or Willie Parker(I traded him earlier in the season in one of my leagues and benched him in another for LJ and Portis) this week then you did a good job.

Bitch please. He is definitely top 2 receiver on the Redskins.

and without a doubt arguably the favorite because as a QB (if you have ever played it before) your favorite recievers tend to be the ones that you know will be open and are saftey valves when a play falls apart. such is the case for Cooley. He always seems to be in the right place at the right time.

Quote :

ummmmmmm, yeah i did.

and he started and played the entire game. I didnt say he was a fine play, i said he was fine to play, becasue the discussion was whether or not his health would allow him to play.

Teh Guru wins again.

oh yeah, and in the matchup listed above, my opponent benched James and Wayne and put in Givens and Jamal Lewis. So as of right now, i am up by ~30 points with those two people left to play. What do you think my chances are?

^^Givens will likely have a good game, he's been on FIRE. And Jamal Lewis is facing a favorable defense, BUT, they'll likely crowd the box and make Boller beat them.

Don't know your point system, but you should be ok.

however many ^
Bears D will be a solid play this week, but I don't expect 5 INT's, I think Favre will have a decent game.

2 sacks X 1 pt per sack

4 picks X 2 points per int

1 int returned for td X 6 pts per td

1 pt for scores btw 14 and 20

the shitty thing is that i am in the semifinals.

all bets are off in week 17.

the only good thing i have going for me is that i have Larry Johnson as well as Julius Jones, 2 stars that i believe will be playing in the final week.

once again.....congrats on winning your league. I hope at some point in your season i assisted you one way or another.

ok so its championship time

will Palmer play next week? if so, should i play him or Bledsoe?
Bledsoe should get more playing time than Palmer regardless, so its a tough call

M.Anderson is hurt and might not play, should I play K. Robinson or W. Welker as a W/R

believe it or not, Wes has 90 more fantasy points than KROB

L. Jordan is out more than likely for next week, should I play S. Jackson or T.Jones in his place?

have at it!

next question:

sorry VOLCOM , The Guru has been slacking while on vacation.

i won my semifinal with the roster listed above, so i am in the championship this weekend as well.

lets try to answer you all-important fantasy questions.

According to all of my sources (i know that sounds dumb, but thats what they are) since Cincinnati lost to Buffalo, they will be without a doubt trying to win this game, with Palmer, Rudi, Chad and Housh seeing ample playing time. The only problem is that they are playing @ KC, which anytime but especially in this time of the year is a near impossible place to play, especially pass.

With that said, i expect both Palmer and Bledsoe to hand the ball of more than throw, with Bledsoe doing so because the Rams rush D is terrible. Since you have to pick between the two, i am leaning towards Bledsoe in this scenario because
a) They are playing at home against the Rams
b) they are in a must win situation (but they may already know their fate by 8:30 sunday night)
c) so far this season, Bledsoe has been great in must win games, like the Dallas v. KC game.
d) KC plays a ball control game, limiting the number of opprotunities Palmer will have.

its up to you, but my pick is Bledsoe.

as far as the RB's

Jones probably wont play as they have nothing to play for, and Jackson has nagging injuries. We'll have to wait on this one until more updates come through for both players.

WR's:

Toomer over K-Rob.

with Shockey hurt and likely limited, Toomer will benefit greatly against a deplorable Raiders defense.
