this snow/ice/rain delayed the opening of our office for 2 hours. I love sleeping late and still making it to work on time!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this one was out of reach for us...

god i really hate madison's. I've been there three times before, all to see UFC fights. each of those times it was great, i think just cause everyone was paying attention.

Tonight, omg i wanted to murder each and every person that bumped into me.

personal space ftw.

Quote :
"Light rail ticket crackdown begins
STEVE LYTTLE
slyttle@charlotteobserver.com
Charlotte Area Transit System officials say they have launched a crackdown today on people who are riding the Lynx light rail line without paying.

The crackdown began this morning, CATS authorities said.

The Lynx line began operating Nov. 26, but the transit system has not been checking to see if riders have been paying the $1.30 fee. CATS officials say riders will begin seeing an increased frequency of ticket-checking by CATS personnel and police, starting today.

Riders found without a pass or an expired pass will receive a $50 civil citation and will be put off the train at the next station.

CATS officials say they also will have a way of checking if ticket vending machines are working, should riders say that the machines were not functioning.

Daily ridership on the line has been more than 12,000, according to the latest numbers released by CATS. That is more than the 9,000-daily-ridership number originally expected to ride the line, which runs from near Pineville to 7th Street.

HOW THE HELL IS THIS A "CRACKDOWN" , WHEN THIS IS A PLANNED END OF A GRACE PERIOD THAT WAS ANNOUNCED AND LISTED TO THE PUBLIC. IT'S NOT LIKE THIS IS A GROWING EPIDEMIC THAT IS OUT OF CONTROL.

I am seriously considering moving closer to uptown (live near pineville right now).

However, I took a quick drive around yesterday and confimed my suspicions that I would likely have to go through a property rental agency, as there are very few complexes that I would like to live in.

Anyone have any names of repubable rental agencies I could look into? I've found a few, but still seem to be missing a lot (I think?).

I'm looking between uptown and southpark, south of independence. I'm flexible as to exact location, as it's all between 5-10 miles of my work.

Look into the condos at Olmsted Park. They are in Southend and most are reasonably priced.

Have I mentioned before that I hate that new Hom bar. My god, i mean how many dudes do you have to see kissing and rubbing each other before you decide this isn't the right bar for us?

the guys i was with were like "man this place is awesome, check out all these girls" and i'm like "look over there, two dudes givin some tongue." i mean dont get me wrong, i stuck out like a sore thumb that night especially there, it's a swanky place but yeah not what i consider a good time.

You can't tell me that driving home (or out of for that matter) through uptown doesn't take much much longer due people jaywalking slowly ? I've had a group of people start across a clear cross walk after I had started accelerating w/ a green light, only to have them start yelling at ME. I HAD THE FUCKING RIGHT OF WAY. This has happend every year it's been here, many many times. It is much worse than normal games, because they do this all over downtown. It's not just a matter of going a couple of blocks over.

Don't you fuckers call me racist (i'm not) for this, either. Many of you agreed w/ me last year, and the year before.

My disdain for the crowd on the streets and in uptown establishments is equal to that of Speed Street.

[Edited on February 29, 2008 at 4:01 PM. Reason : omg I hate whity, too]

[Edited on February 29, 2008 at 4:08 PM. Reason : The only reason I used "black" was that I couldn't remember the name of the event.]

Why even point out that it's a black basketball tourney if not for racist reasons?

driving downtown is NEVER fast

its like at State...if you are cutting it close for making it to a class on time, dont cut down Dan Allen

driving down Tryon Street (at least between ~Morehead and ~12th) is never an efficient traffic pattern for maximizing time...College and Church are better methods...sometimes a Graham or Davidson/Brevard/McDowell is a better option as well

I'm not talking about driving down tryon or even college and church. I'm talking about 4th or 7th crossing those streets. I'm not expecting to go fast (it never is), but I am expecting people to not start across a walk, when they don't have the right of way (light) and traffic is coming or has just gotten a light and started accelerating into an intersection. I would also expect people to hurry up if they do this, as there are cars waiting right at them, in the intersection they caused to jam. I am also expecting them to not yell at me, as I wait pateintly.

And I've already addresed why I called it a "black" tourney. It had nothing to do w/ hate. It had everything to do w/ me blanking on the name, and trying to thing of a descriptive adjective. Calling something black, doens't automatically mean OMG RACIST
