the refs weren't really a factor in this game. i was pleased with them actually. this game was really good, but we've got to learn how to stay calm and run our offense during the final few minutes of the game. overall i was happy with the way we played. we could have done better on our 3pt shots, but hey it was at Duke, and i know we could have taken them if it was on a neutral court or at our house.

i was just praising the team not complaining so much. we did go what 2-10 from the 3pt line though, which is below our norm, but we compensated by feeding it in low and getting mid-range shots. good job though to our players. they played with a lot of heart and intensity.

I really wish the ACC either hadn't expanded or teams would bag some bullshit games and continue the home and home series. This division crap is bullshit.

bethel atsur and evtimov 6 points 3-14 shooting. that was the game right there. you gotta like how the big men stepped up and played well cam played pretty well atsur did have dockery on him but evtimov and bethel were disapointments. of my 3 keys really only 1/3 and that was doing a good job of keeping paulus from making plays. dockery and melchioni (and some sheldon) were left open for too many easy looks all to keep jj from getting a shot off. and he still scored 28. all in all a good game. ncstate didnt play great but they hung tight.

Well, I have several thoughts:

First, I'm THRILLED to have a man named Simmons on my team. The man is a beast, stays focused, and is just as thorough as they come. He made maybe 2 mistakes all game and missed a few crucial shots down the stretch, but we wouldn't have had a CHANCE in this game without him to begin with.

Second, we found our inside game. We can learn from this loss. We straight DOMINATED the paint. The Wolfpack dominating the paint hasn't been true in like 14 years or something.

We may have choked some in the final minutes, but really that 6-point play killed us. In Cameron with less than 3 minutes to go, you can't hardly come back from something crazy like that. They guarded our 3-point shooting SO well it was just rediculous. We made a few stupid decisions in the end, but seriously coming back to beat Duke in the final 2 minutes really doesn't happen 99/100 times. We needed to be AHEAD with 3 mins. to go to have a realistic chance against Duke.

The refs were solid. Sure, they missed a few on us. But OVERALL, I've never seen a more fairly called game in Duke and against NC State. End of the story. Heck, we even got an extra 5-6 seconds added to the clock by accident.

Bennerman was just shut down. That hurt badly.

Melchioni is a complete faggot and mentally unstable person. McRoberts had the gayest dunk EVER. And Paulus will either be homosexual or asexual for life 'cause he's as ugly as dirt.

Overall, I can't complain about this loss. The final score wasn't indicitive of how hard we played. We nearly had this and we played 'em hard from start to finish.

We would've won in Raleigh, no doubt, but that's neither here nor there, nor this season.

Good game Pack, tough loss but we're a DAMN good team this year.

ps. Obviously, they overdid their perimeter defense. To bad we won't have a home game this year to exploit it and go inside even more than we did tonight.

i can't believe the amount of bitching going on about this game. are you all freshmen who haven't watched ANY NC State basketball the last 5 years?? this team has 100 times the potential of those teams. why? WE HAVE A GO-TO GUY IN THE PAINT FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER

Why is no one talking the monster Simmons has turned into. He pretty much just out-performed a first team All-American on his home court. How about we only shot like 10 three's and still were toe-to-toe for essentially 38 mins. If I'm not mistaken, not many teams go to Duke and pull out a win, and even fewer actually play a good game.

If you can't see how many positives there were from this game and how they GREATLY outweigh the negatives, then you know nothing about college basketball. We are going to steal a few more road games and be a force the rest of the year. This is a good team.
