I could see them doing Bane. They could end the film with a cliffhanger as Batman's back is broken. What about Killer Croc?

Great movie (only complaint was the sonar device). Definitely check it out at the IMAX. I'd pay $12 just for the opening city shot. If you are going to see it IMAX here are some things to be aware of:

1. Get to the theatre about 2.5 hours before the show. My girlfriend and I were 3rd and 4th in line and we ended up getting the back row middle. Perfect seats.
2. Take some cards, books, or a bunch of friends to pass the time.
3. Check the ticket. The two girls in front of us who were 1st and 2nd in line found out that their tickets were for July 25th and not tonight. Not sure if they got in since it was sold out but I'd hate to wait nearly three hours for nothing.

As for the next villain, I do hope they stick to something more grounded in reality. Check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Batman_enemies for an idea of who they will use next. I'd say Riddler/Cluemaster would be ruled out because of being too similar to Joker. I hope they do keep Two-Face dead. Harley-Quinn wouldn't be bad if they want a female opponent (who I would prefer over Catwomen) and that would tie together with the previous film a little easier. Hush/Calander Man/Hangman would be the most realistic and keep the mafia storyline going. etc.etc.etc.

oh yea, this movie makes me really appreciate Heat (my favorite crime movie ever).

black mask or deadshot would be pretty 'realistic.' I'm expecting the Riddler though.

I hope two-face comes back. he is one of the more interesting villains and i feel they didn't explore his full potential in this movie. they pretty much only showed his angry evil side once he became two-face, no real arguments or conflicts between his two sides and such.

^I guess harley quinn could come and get revenge for putting joker in arkham or something since she is his ho. Catwoman could provide a love interest though i think, as opposed to Harley Quinn.

i don't think they should do another one, but i know they will based on money and profit.

none of the other villains really intrigue me. penguin would be fine if they kept him a normal person (like the adam west shows) instead of a deformed man

Uh... if you were paying attention, they said that he had a division of Wayne Enterprises build the machine. Lucius asked him if he'd reassigned them to a government contract (even though Wayne didn't have any) and Bruce said that he was playing this one "a little closer to the vest".

Oh and the special "sonar signals" that the phones were sending back? That's sound, man. It's what phones do. The machine just boosted the signal it got back and used that to construct the map.

Even as over the top as it may be, it's a ton more realistic than a man who not only needs to remain in freezing temperatures, but has a gun that freezes things instantly. They've done a good job so far grounding his enemies in reality, I don't see why they'd completely throw it to the wind.

I agree. Although I love Mr. Freeze character in the characters, I think that his character being pulled off in the "realistic" world of Batman now. His entire concept would be difficult to pull off in this reality...at least I believe so.

I would like to see the Riddler, but he would be way to close to the Joker as many has said. Although I think it could be played off sweet if riddler would play off Joker's antics to introduce himself while working with Harley Quinn. Let them hint at Joker still getting his rocks off while in jail, but letting Riddler take the main scene.

******SPOILER*******

I at first thought Harvey D. was dead also, but I don't think they "killed" him off completely. I would like to see more of his character. It was great to see so much of his character and used correctly.

/ SPOILER

They probably won't, but they could introduce the Circus/Fair that the family is with and just show part of their act show...maybe just give a hint of Robin. Show him as a young teenager/kid and having superb ability or no fear. But don't introduce him as a sidekick yet.

I really hope the 3rd movie is based on "The Dark Knight Returns."

This movie was fucking grim. That's probably the best way I can describe it. It was not your standard cut and dry popcorn flick.

Awesome performance by Ledger. I love Christian Bale as Batman, he's far and away the best actor to play the role. Eckhart was an excellent Harvey Dent/Twoface (I think he'll be back in the 3rd movie). I'm pretty surprised there isn't more love for Jim Gordon, I thought they really made his character very interesting.

I'm not going to post a bunch of spoilers or talk about specific details, but I might go see it again tomorrow.

Spoiler alert.........

OK so when the Joker lets Rachel fall from the window with the party going on, I was like OK Batman has to go back up and fight the Joker because the Joker isn't just going to leave. Well it seems that what happened. So I am to believe the Joker just kinda gave up and left?

and also the Scarecrow only had a little bit of screen time then was just forgotten the rest of the movie.

Other than that very kick ass. Will see again at $1.50 before DVD release.

I don't know how they could pull off a Robin in this rendition of Batman, but I'm sure it could be done. Perhaps they could just introduce the character of Dick Grayson and have him become Bruce Wayne's ward but leave it at that for now.

I don't think they have to bring in "Robin" just introduce the character or future development and just to acknowledge his character. If they want let "Robin" show up later...if they take the series that far. But they could very well introduce Dick Grayson in a reasonable manner.

It's really a shame that Ledger died, because if they did introduce Robin they could have run something like the "A Death in the Family" story arc and have the Joker kill Robin with a fucking crowbar.

just saw it in IMAX this morning. i liked it even better. honestly though, while the IMAX scenes are pretty crazy, i think the sound was actually the biggest improvement over the regular theater experience. the sound was phenomenal. but yeah, the IMAX scenes were pretty crazy, especially the city view scenes. i felt like i was in a damn helicopter for the opening scene. it was pretty sweet. but yeah awesome movie, i may go see it again.

Why not? That's how Batman works. The villains get captured and put in Arkham, and they escape every once in a while and show themselves as a challenge again...then the cycle repeats.

Catwoman for the next movie? There are two hints dropped: first, morgan freeman says the new suit might not protect against dogs, but definitely "cats" and then gives him that O_O stare.

Second, the casefiles in Harvey's office. One of them had the name "Gotham v. S. Kyle" on it.

Probably just easter eggs, but eye-opening to be sure.
