The DBs did not look good at all...14 was always behind...and #30 couldn't get off a block to save his life.

I saw it happened and said to my buddies "He better be careful with...ahhh hell, he got a flag for that". It wasn't a terrible just blatantly shoving a guy well after a play or whatever type of PF. It was questionable in my opinion."

that PF was for jumping on the pile after the play was dead

i'm not saying what they have now is great . . . i liked it much better when i started school when we could just walk in any gate just like any other fan. but it also isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Bullshit. It was a handoff and the play that was called forced the back to reverse and go the other direction giving Evans a clear opportunity to hand down a block.

Result: 10 yard loss.

in comparison to every other damn school, it's pretty bad. See most schools charge students for the tickets they buy, instead of charging every student the same fee and handing out "free" tickets. This whole situation would be avoided if they just had regular ticketing like every other big program in the country. But instead, they can make more money by tacking shit onto student fee's and then using the absolute bare minimum resources to deal with us.

Yeah, fuck that line. I got to it 30 minutes before the start of the game and didn't get in until kick-off. Mad people were cutting to the front of the line, and nobody was doing anything to stop them. And then there were 3 d-bag horse cops who rode through the middle of the line, their horses dropping shit as they went. When we got to the security checkpoint we had to empty our pockets of everything. The guy even made my friend take the chapstick out of his pocket. But then I saw some dude roll through the same gate and proceed to pull 2 beers out of his waist band. And what's the point of having stamps, if the section you get a stamp for is full before you're able to get into it?

Fuck Tom Stafford, clap, clap, clap, clap.

The security shit is a little over the top. It serves no purpose to have it that tight other than to make the wait longer. "Is that all you have, anything in your pockets? Lift up your shirt. Let me feel your ass to see if you're hiding anything." Those who want to bring stuff are resourceful and will get it in anyways.

And about the line. Got there about 15 minutes before the gates opened, so about 1hr 45min before kickoff and probably took 10 minutes at the most to get in. The problem is everyone waits til 30min or less before kickoff and it's just common sense that there's going to be a long ass line.

^I went 60 mins before kickoff and got to my seat with about ~8 mins left on the countdown. It's entirely too long of a wait, and the lines are a complete clusterfuck.

the lines are ridiculous. The security is just WAY too over the top. When you're taking 20-30 seconds with each individual student....you're gonna have a clusterfuck on your hands. for example, yesterday when i went in....the first guy was like "ok, take your hat off, lemme look inside, empty your pockets, is there anything else in there? are you sure?"

and then right after i leave him some guy walks up to me and hes like "lemme feel them pockets man" and pats me down pretty much with the back of his hands. What the fuck? its retarded

No you see, they ALREADY make more money by charging EVERYONE regardless of their actual attendance (student fees). Instead of taking some of extra revenue and using it to make it easier to get us in, they do the bare minimum knowing we can't do anything about it, and won't boycott the games because we want to support our school.

It seems pretty fucking obvious you have no idea how most schools (especially big D1) handle student tickets or stadium admissions. If you did, you'd see what a complete clusterfuck we have here.

and then there's the dickbag cops standing around at the entrace, not doing anything but hassling people. fuckin pigs

see what makes me mad is me and my group WANTS to be in 14 / 15. They say if you don't get stamped or have it smudged you HAVE To be moved there since they are supposedly the worst seats. All that applied to us and some dumbass security guards and cops were like go back to the nez. the nez was full, luckily we walked up at 14. These people take their security event one staff too serious. Oh and sorry but you are asking to get cut in that long ass line.

"O'Leary turns up volume at practice

Kyle Hightower | Sentinel Staff Writer
August 30, 2007

UCF Coach George O'Leary isn't just worried about his team's X's and O's game plan this week against N.C. State. He's worried about their ears, too. During Wednesday's helmets-and-shorts workout, O'Leary turned up the volume on the offense, using speakers set up on the back of a golf cart to give the team a taste of what it will experience Saturday at the Wolfpack's rowdy Carter-Finley Stadium.

Sounds of six different jet engines mixed together were blasted behind the huddle during team drills, forcing players to rely on hand signals from the sideline. O'Leary said it is an exercise he normally pulls out when his team is playing on the road. "It's loud there [at Carter-Finley], but any time we play away I want to bring the noise in," he said. "They are just used to paying attention to the verbals and not having their head down when the play's being called. Same with the visuals, they have to understand to really watch for those.""

I guess it worked.

Wow, sucks for him. Recover fast and come back stronger than ever Toney.

Now it's Andre and Jamelle's task to pick up the slack.

If any injuries are to occur, RB is probably the deepest position we have. That's football.

i knew i didn't remember that shit from last year

when he told me to lift my shirt i asked him if he had a warrant or even probable cause, then asked him again when he told me he was going to pat me down, and he just looked at me like i was speaking greek. then the asshole cop behind him was like "this is private property, you can leave if you don't like it." and its not about safety, or weapons, b/c if it were they'd have metal detectors instead of retards in yellow shirts.

also, the girl I took to the game who was wearing a fucking skin-tight tank top and blue jean mini-skirt, was asked to RAISE HER SHIRT so the guy could make sure she wasn't "hiding anything". The girl couldn't have hidden a fucking tic-tac her clothes were so tight.

Then my friend's girlfriend who was wearing a HALTER TOP (for the dudes, a shirt the only comes down to the belly button), was STILL asked to lift her shirt.

Then for me, dude just pats my front pockets once and lets me through. Not to mention the two guys behind me with flask-sandals. All they are looking for are: airplane bottles, weed, drinks (booze and softdrinks) and knives.

I was actually pleasantly suprised that you can bring in bottled water if the cap is sealed, and supposedly other 20oz or less soft drinks if the cap is sealed.

Yesterday is proof that college football needs an exhibition game because theres too many things that you just don't know about and if you don't have a genius coach then its just trial and error. NC State, ECU and Michigan both lost because they were dusting off cobwebs in the first half. We even saw some of the better teams that won big like lsu, bc, and texas have slow starts.

College football is all about which team is more ready to play and collectively wants it more. Thats up to the coach to fire the team up. If the coach does his job there then the superior team will always win. Its tough to get big time guys up to play a team like ucf or app state. Tom OB is calm, boring and doesn't do that well, which is why BC "got rid of him" herb style. It shouldn't take being down 25-3 at halftime to fire the team up. BC was a team that should have won the division at the very least last season. Bring in a new coach and now BC is putting up 38 and destroying the defending champions while NC State is losing to UCF and because of coaching. I'm not saying it was a bad hire because it was a great hire (based on the 2nd half and beck it looks like we'll have a decent 6-7 wins) for a basketball school and huge upgrade from Chuck but BC wanted better and now we should all see why.

bottom line: Tom is a pretty good coach but not outstanding.

by the way...

who was the kid that did the flip into the endzone? bedics?
why doesn't bowens get more touches? he seems to break lots of tackles

I think bowens was the one that did the reggie bush flip into the endzone after that nasty stiff arm.

And we have a rough road ahead of us. @BC, @FSU, and @Miami. Wake always gives us fits with their running game and if we don't tighten up the coverage in our secondary, Brohm is gonna have the Heisman won after Sept. 29.

1.) Thank God we put in Beck, and to the girl behind me who kept asking why I wanted Beck in after that first pick...yes I know who Beck is, I know what he can do and if you can start at Nebraska I THINK you can start at State, shut your mouth.

2.) our O line was terrible, our D line was terrible and their RB is a stud.

3.) #30 on defense, he sucks and cant get around a WR block to save his life.

4.) thank GOD we finally have a competent group of coaches who make changes at the half.

5.) the lines are absolutely stupid, my gf got patted down...I saw it and told the guy to get his hands off her and promptly got an encounter with a po po...shes a GIRL, get another GIRL to pat her down or dont touch her at all and if you werent so scared about us having to sneak alchy in because we have to line up 3 hours before the game then it wouldnt be such a problem with the lines and the empty student sections. Open more gates get more guards and unless its a female touching females get your hands off them.

The lines sound like bullshit. The whole handling of students sounds like it has gone down hill. The idiots implement a stupid policy and create unintended, unwanted consequences. Then to solve that, they implement even stupider policies.

I can't believe that people put up with this shit. Isn't this where the worthless waste of flesh student government is supposed to step in and at least try to do something?

so am I/was/will be

we have no control as SG over Event one Staff and what the RPD does and does not do.

We cant watch over the whole thing, if you think we can then you are clearly being blinded.

SG has its hands tied, all we can really do is recommend what to do, we dont have the resources to implement it. We just then turn it over to athletics and they handle it.

Its still INCREDIBLY stupid how bad it has gotten, the first game we ever did the paper thing with the stamps...it went smoothly

now they have gotten SOOOOOOOO worried its just atrocious.

open up more gates for students and yea, PM TGD about it all as well as he is student senate president

Something needs to be changed with the security issues getting into the stadium. Athletics is so worried about patrolling the student lots and trying to get them to the gates early that they completely neglected the process of getting in. I love the GA process but the event staff takes security a little too seriously. There's no reason why girls should have to empty their purses or anyone to lift their shirts. Hell, one of the guys told a girl in a sun dress that he'd have to pat her down. He let her go through after I asked him where the hell he thought she was hiding anything. I must have pissed him off though because he spent a couple minutes on me even though I had everything in my hands.

^^ SG can do more than just what their official powers are. For example, when they organized the march on the capitol a few years back.

Hell, even these newspaper letters about Event One perverts patting down girls is embarrassing enough. No company wants that kind of publicity.

MIDLEVEL UNDERACHIEVERS
Schools operating two cuts below the powerhouses -- and at least one cut below where they should be:

North Carolina State -- Wolfpack have lost at least three league games every year since 1994, and haven't done better than 6-2 in ACC play since the 1970s.
