At the end of the show, it is clear that Widmore is still searching for the island.

If the military guys were working for Widmore, wouldn't they have sent him the coordinates of the island by now? Unless he knows the coordinates and still can't find it because it is "invisible" or something. Maybe they don't want him to find the island either... who knows right now

Also, Ben woke up in the desert with a thick jacket, looked like he had just warped from somewhere. i still think there are "warp zones" like one theory says

It looked like on the jacket where he had gotten cut, there was snow around the cut.

Like someone else said, explains the polar bear in the desert if there is in fact some kind of warp.

They certainly made it look like Ben just warped to the Sahara. But he could have been sleeping overnight, it gets mighty cold there. It seems like the idea that he teleported there would just be a set up by the writers.

yeah, but it would fit into other occurrences in the past, like the polar bear ending up in Tunisia (presumably around the same place Ben was) and maybe even Michael somehow making it back to NYC in record time from his little dingy.

also, ben was unaware of the date too, asking the receptionist for the year, so he might have done a bit of time-traveling as well.

yeah, i definitely took it this way. He finds out somehow that Claire is his sister.

Overall, a comparatively boring episode, but mostly because last week's was so action packed. Definitely a filler, preparing us for the end of the season. The whole appendectomy drama went on way too long without any payoff. I think the only point of that was to get Julliet to save Jacks life so she has something on him and Kate.

all the exciting stuff is happening with Locke and Ben, so hopefully we'll get back to them soon. And we need to find out what's up with Desmond and Syiad too

yeah, i was just thinking - she said that she "had to do something for [Sawyer]", then I was wondering who she was talking to on the phone. I think they are completely cut off from the island, so it is highly unlikely she is talking to Sawyer, so i wonder who else she would be talking to about that.

they also gave us the hint that Sawyer "chose" to stay on the island, so apparently some of them weren't forced to stay while others were rescued.

So I'm a little foggy on the time frame. The plane supposedly crashed in I think September 2004? And when Ben asked the lady at the hotel what day it was, didn't she say it was like October 2004? We already know that they have been on the island until at least Christmas 2004, right...?

The way he woke up in the desert, I'm assuming the island has some sort of teleportation (lame theory) similar to Desmond waking up in the middle of the jungle after the hatch blew up.

Keep into consideration that the whole time line is flexible due to the facts that we already know (leaving from the wrong coordinances has effects upon time on the island vs. time outside)

Very vague description, but yeah, that's what I'm taking it for.
