Is the band coming to this game? I certainly hope so. They can play the Red & White song and we can still use the "GO TO HELL CAROLINA" lyric.

I encourage you all to try to make this game. We need to show our support and make a good impression on national TV. It'd be great if we had a very noticeable amount of fans there. It would send a message to the team that we are fully behind them this year, and if the SC fans notice how good of fans we are they might just spread the word to their SEC brethren about us and maybe other fanbases will know that we are the fanbase in NC that is the most rabid about football.
I know that the VT fans were really impressed by us back when we first went up there in 04. I listened to their post game radio show as I left Blacksburg. One caller said that we had as many if not more fans than LSU did when they visited them, and that we were louder than them. They commended us on how well we traveled and how nice we were. They were excited about having future games with us and were convinced that the move to the ACC would be great for them. One fan though was pissed b/c of how many fans we had and where we were placed. We had a number of fans in the lower and upper parts of the SEZ as well as the Southern end of the East stands, and he thought that we were able to distract their kicker. He was outraged that Tech would allow so many of our fans to come and didn't spread them throughout more parts of the stadium. I think there are a few pictures of the VT game and post game reactions in my gallery, provided they weren't lost.
Now this is what I call being prepared! http://www.ucfpics.com/DSCN0475.JPG

isn't the spread like -13 to USC, as much as I would never bet on NCSU it seems like USC's offense might have trouble covering that with their QB situation being as bad as it is 8/1/2008 3:26:34 PM |

Well their color is Maroon while ours is red. There is a difference. It would be nice if they did have a black out since it would make our red stand out that much more though.
Let's turn it State Red! Or perhaps everyone wearing white would be better. Hmm...

On young linebackers "They're nice. Some young guys come in immature and don't take it serious, but these young guys that we have like [freshman Sterling Lucas], freshman Dwayne [Maddox] and [freshman William Beasley]. We sat down and talked to them and they're a lot more mature than a lot of other young guys."
Who's one guy that we may see a lot of this year that we don't really know about yet? "Sterling Lucas. His footwork is great and his attitude is very, very good."
That is what you get with TOB players. Guys that are mature, will work hard, and take it seriously. 8/1/2008 10:18:55 PM |

BOOOOOOOO!!!!!! The USC game is huge for publicity and it would be nice to have 13+ million people hearing the NC State Fight Song and the Red & White Song and it's accompanying lyrics coming through their TV.
How would we be able to get the band to go to more games? It doesn't even have to be the whole band (although that is preferred), it could be just the upperclassmen. 8/1/2008 10:48:56 PM |

^^^It's all about the MONEY. Trust me, Dr. G really wanted to take us to Columbia since he's a UT grad, but apparently it also has something to do with the fact that we'd have to miss two days of class.
Oh, and we aren't even sending the full band to Duke because they are afraid we are going to dwarf them.

They're making progress, 2 years ago they didn't even go to Clemson (I was there and the State fans could only manage to get a couple chants going the whole game...of course that was the Amato 3-9 year too).

In the spirit of good sportsmanship, it's a "newer" tradition to play the opposing teams song at Williams-Brice. So if it's any consolation, the SC band will most likely end up playing the NCSU fight song for you. 8/2/2008 11:36:55 PM |

^ we're going to have to actually win games to be able to fill something like that. 8/4/2008 12:26:26 PM |

noted, we're also going to have to win games to procure the idea of building something like that, lol the other picture the guy posted was a bowled in upper deck and a matching east side vaughn towers, I was like uhhh wut?
I'm hoping something like that happens right about the time I can afford lifetime rights.

if anyone wants a good laugh check out Heather Dinich's latest ACC blog post at ESPN: http://myespn.go.com/blogs/acc/0-1-161/State-of-the-ACC--Clemson-could-lift-league.html
here are some gems from the article: "Miami fans won't like the move to Dolphin Stadium, save for the beer." Pretty sure they sold beer at the orange bowl
"Nine ACC teams won't be bowl eligible, which means the Congressional Bowl reps will have to settle for Navy (if the Midshipmen even qualify) and a MAC team." thats just retarded
although she did make one valid point in the entire article: "Chris Crane won't make you forget Matt Ryan, and Jeff Jagodzinski won't make Eagles fans forget Tom O'Brien."

i'm not sure to blame this on women sports writers or espn.8/4/2008 1:47:12 PM |

I thought you weren't allowed to sell alcohol at NCAA events? Or is it just on campus stadiums? Or just up to each particular school?8/4/2008 2:05:07 PM |

i'm pretty sure it's illegal at NCAA events, which makes her comment even stupider.
nm, just found an article and apparently Louisville still sells alcohol at sporting events.

^^^not true, there are a number of college football stadiums that sell beer including the deceased orange bowl and I recently learned that beer is sold at WFU's BB&T stadium
