I hate how hansbrough uses his left arm to stiff arm defenders mid-air and somehow it is always called a defensive foul. Am I confused about the rules or something?

that's nothing new. it's good technique for power post players...charles barkley made a career off of shielding defenders.

Yeah, but when guards are moving with the ball and they do that, they get called for an O-foul. Especially if they push the defender in the chest.

When forwards are trying to get open and they do that without the ball, they get called for the foul.

So it's legal in mid-air, even when the defensive player was there first and has hands straight up?

it hardly ever gets called in midair. look at the players who lead leagues in free throws (college, nba, etc.) and they're all masters of pulling this off. i don't like unc, but that's just a part of the game.

Well, let me tell you something; I'll be the first to call him a crybaby to his face if I ever see the sonofabitch in person. He says nobody's ever done it, and I really can't stand the idiot. I don't see how any of you people pulling for State have any sympathies or laughs for Roy Williams, when he constantly berrates the media with comments like that to piss us off and perpetuate the idiocracy of the people all around the state that pull for Carolina (the "alumni" in other words).

Yeah, we got beat bad today. It fucking sucks. But I'm sick and tired of people giving up on this team to the point of dismissal and betrayal.

By the way, about the "not pulling your starters" issue: 2 things - I'm thinking that Mr. Williams may have this fear that's manifested itself over his years of chokes in tournaments and otherwise "shouldve" wins that won't let him pull his starters under any circumstances (even when the game is won by the half). After all, that Georgetown game hasn't been that long ago here. Secondly, it's probably the biscuit thing. I like that comment about the fatass wanting the Bojangles.

Oh, and that was a hilarious comment about "at least our football players didn't get beat by a bunch of ugly women." ahaha; classic comeback retort if any of those alumni around our beloved state bring this "game" up in the coming season...

Why would that comment piss you off? You're an idiot son. Comments like "i dont like those cow loving mother fuckers" should piss you off. We want him to think this is the biggest game of the year.

I can't find the exact post-game quote from Roy but I did hear him mention something you won't find on many tar heel fansites. When asked about fans leaving with about 5-10 minutes left in the game, he made remarks referring to how he wished they would stay for the entire game and how pissed off he was that "4 damn red shirts" were sitting courtside in alumni seats, and continued to say that he has enough money to buy those seats if Carolina alumni didn't want to sit there.

Okay, let me go ahead and explain this...

The rivalry issue is mostly a joke considering we only beat them in basketball anything on the rarest of occasions.

Comments like Roy made seem patronizing. Anybody knows they were going to beat us today. I'd hoped they wouldn't, but you can't count on State beating UNC at anything. It's pretty pathetic, sure. But you gotta realize. See: football debacle.

For him to make a comment like that and for me to read it after seeing us get beat down by 30 plus points...yeah, it pissed me off.

And don't preach to me about this rivalry shit. Like I said, it affects my hatred of UNC none whatsoever. For example, I hate Ohio State, but not because their our "rival," idiot. If we wanted to be rivals with UNC, we wouldn't have let the hype slip away to Duke so, so many, many years ago.

I don't know of any media attention Sid has brought based on derogatory comments about Carolina, but that doesn't mean they aren't there. What has he said to equate to Roy saying that and many other things hating on us to his players and especially the media?
