As an ASU fan, my only knock on their offense is that down the stretch they get tentative and elect to run down the clock as opposed to running their offense, although this is a problem with most teams who are leading in the tournament.

I look at pulling for ASU like I look at pulling for San Diego.

I was here when Herb and Philip were here. They both did a lot for the basketball and football programs respectively and gave me a good 4 years here (which a lot students before and after me can't say). So I'll follow both of their careers and cheer for all teams that they are involved in.

And don't give me the "alumni" bull shit either. Herb gave just as much to this program as Philip did.

It's a lose lose for NCSU boosters regarding Sendek. If he wins out west, we look foolish for putting the heat on him no matter how justified it was, which it was. On the other hand, I always find it incredibly insincere when a program gets rid of a coach and then proclaims that they wish him success in the future. No you don't, you want to see him crash and burn and you want it to justify your decision to can said coach (and by "you" I mean the administration and boosters that put the heat on him and caused him to leave, internet experts are not relevant). If a program really thought highly of said coach, they'd never get rid of him, or force him out, whichever you prefer to label it.

I definitely think people should pull for schools they actually have a connection to, the NFL is totally different since practically no one has a personal connection to any team so I could care less if someone pulls for San Diego or the Patriots. It really irks me how all these motherfuckers have come out of the woodwork in the past 2 weeks acting like they're the biggest ASU fan in the world, when in reality they only started giving a fuck when they realized ASU was good. Maybe jordanfromnj fits this profile, maybe he doesn't but all this "we" talk with ASU is retarded, since he not only has no connection to ASU, he's never visited the campus, seen them play a game live or anything else.

^I don't think you analyzed that correctly.

If he does well, then it's a lose situation because it looks like we shouldn't have pushed him out (and don't even bring that "he left on his own accord" shit...we definitely forced him out). But at the same time, if he does well, we can always fall back on the "he wasn't going to get it done here and we needed to move on" spiel. But that only works if we actually do well ourselves.

If he does poor out there...then it makes us look good.

So its kind of a win/lose situation.
