Cmon guys page 23
Great game today. I would have been fine with the effort even if we lost. While the powerplay is still garbage, they switched things up in the offensive zone and avoided getting stuck behind the net. Everybody kept themselves facing the net in front and put themselves in a position to score.
While it was unproductive, this may have been Staal's best game of the season. It was also good to see Cullen starting to make plays. 11/28/2008 8:17:41 PM |

I've found a few sites reporting the stream. Sometimes the Stadium Camera's will run feeds, especially for Hockey packages and stuff. 11/30/2008 3:59:50 PM |

They had a page for the Atlanta game today too but didn't have anything on it because it wasn't on TV. I wouldn't expect it to be streamed. 11/30/2008 4:04:41 PM |

its not on center ice. there's no way they will have a stream unless they work for the NHL or something.

Is Ward really injured bad? That would suck. Who the hell could we get as a replacement, no way Leighton could handle the rest of the way. I don't want to get the Bulin wall, but is he really the only option out there? I mean I doubt Hasek would come back to the NHL to play here haha (I don't want him, but there isn't exactly an over abundance of goalies out there). 11/30/2008 9:40:22 PM |

So we can't score, always play from behind and can't defend our home-ice? This season is quickly going down the tubes. Hope JR has some big trades in the works. 11/30/2008 10:51:53 PM |

i was planning on getting tickets for Thursday vs. Pittsburgh because I have a friend from Penn that wants to go...but the only reason I'd go is to watch Crosby school us, because we aren't worth shit right now.

so ward gets hurt
leighton gets a chance to shine
and he goes 11/14
WHOOPS
granted, the goals were all open shots from poor coverage or poor backchecking, and he made a couple of huge saves, but still
jeff carter had the world's slowest breakaway on friday and cam turned him aside because he knew he had to...that's the mindest leighton should be in when he gets a shot like that 12/1/2008 3:20:12 AM |

I have no idea how "brand strength" is calculated, but it's nice to have some good news to post http://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/article/60748
The Hurricanes had the 5th biggest gain in "brand awareness" of the 4 big league sports league teams in America despite missing the playoffs. 12/1/2008 2:29:03 PM |

Quote : | "“You’ll probably see Williams play this week,” said Rutherford. “I know he’s been working hard and he’s passed every test he’s had. He’s way ahead of schedule, which we’re all a little nervous and cautious about, but he’s passed every test and you’ll probably see him this week.”
The initial prognosis after Williams ruptured his Achilles tendon in September had him back no earlier than mid-January. A return against Pittsburgh on Thursday, which Rutherford didn’t rule out, would put him over a month ahead of schedule." |

Quote : | "While the injury news on Monday was very good regarding one player, the outlook was mixed for some other members of the Hurricanes.
Goaltender Cam Ward, who injured his groin in the first period of yesterday’s loss to Anaheim, will probably not be available for the team’s three upcoming home games against Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Washington, said General Manager Jim Rutherford.
Rutherford also said that, despite coming back to the bench midway through the second period, Ward would not have been able to re-enter the game if needed. Justin Peters will likely be recalled from Albany in the next few days to back up Michael Leighton.
Also likely to remain out are Tim Gleason and Scott Walker, who have still not skated since suffering leg injuries last week, although that may change once the team resumes practice on Tuesday.
Rutherford did say that defenseman Dennis Seidenberg, the team’s leader in average ice time per game, has a good chance to be back this week." |
