Another Update: They denied the other girl's unemployment. The one that got fired the same day as me and my girl.

It REALLY sucks for her too, because she is a single mom. Turns out she had a really shitty hearing official who did not accept the partial fault claim, even though our former employer agreed to it.

I am pretty sure she can appeal, but it is most likely that she would get the same official, which would make an appeal pretty pointless

OMG, I can't believe I forgot to update you all on the latest.


So before I started working at this company, a woman went out on medical leave. She had stage 3 Cancer and had to go to Texas for 6 months for treatment. Anyway, long story short, the whole time she was on leave, the boss lady would send her e-mails periodically checking up on her, telling her how she couldn't wait to have her come back to open up the location in Winston, etc etc.

Well, the Cancer goes into remission, and the woman sends an e-mail to the boss lady telling her she is ready to come back. Bosslady tells her there are no positions for her. Woman with cancer asks bosslady if she can be relieved from her non-compete to work for another agency. Bosslady says no, and woman with cancer files for unemployment.

ESC grants her the unemployment and she collects for about 2 months. Well, a few weeks ago, bosslady filed an appeal with the ESC stating that the woman with cancer quit. ESC suspends benefits until they can have a hearing.

Is this woman evil or what?

What's awesome is our Legal Aid attorney is taking the Cancer woman's case, even though she doesn't qualify for Legal Aid. He wants to bury our former boss, and is planning to seek some sort of penalty against her for filing false claims to the ESC.

So the hearing for the cancer chick was today, and my GF was a witness. Apparently the shit was pretty nasty. Even the blind Legal Aid lawyer got involved. I'm not going into detail, but my former employer should rot in hell

I think the cancer chick lost her case. I am not sure because my girl is out of town, but from what I have heard it didn't look good.

like i said, I don't have the details. all I know is our attorney is pissed because he sent me an e-mail telling me to refer anyone that I know of in the future that gets fired from this place to him. His exact words were "I will bury her eventually".
